The Republic's Famous Annual Art Competition
The consensus of The Socialist Republic of Free Hairy People is that we should have an Art Competition. So, we've decided to inaugurate an Annual Art prize which, after due discussion and intense and passionate debate, is to be called the Anthea Turner Prize.
We therefore herewith formally announce the opening of the aforesaid competition and cordially invite submissions.
The Anthea Turner Prize is very much modelled on the spirit of our sister competition, The Turner Prize, and it should be made clear that artistic ability may be considered as a handicap.

THE RULES

1. Each entry must be a portrait or representative image of a celebrity. The name of the celebrity must be included with the entry in case the identity is not immediately obvious due either to crap visual representation or the obscurity of the celebrity, or both.

2. Entrants will agree by the act of entry to their work being displayed on this website.

3. Points may be added for minimalism or childishness.

4. Entrants may enter as many times as they wish, as long as it's not with the same piece of artwork. That would be silly.

5. Stick figures are permissible, but an attempt on relating them to the celebrity would be an advantage.

6. Extra points may be given to images which make us laugh out loud, and drawings produced by the opposite hand to that which one would normally use for drawing. Please mention this when submitting an entry.

7. Irreverence is usually praised by the judges.

8. The entry must be the original work of the entrant and not stolen from some unsuspecting innocent.

9. Any media is permissible from MS Paint to a ball-point pen. Images should be sent as an attachment, preferably in .jpg or .bmp format at 72dpi. If that makes no sense send it anyway and the comrades here at the Republic will work tirelessly toward its successful conversion.
Selected entries may be posted as they arrive, if they arrive. We're hoping they will.

The Prize

The winner will receive a copy of the Chip Shop Boys fabulous new release 'My Life in The Bush of Shepherds' signed by the boys themselves with their own fingers.
