Creole Grammar

Note:

Before 1984, French was the only official language to be considered for school teaching or any official ceremony.

The minister Of education, C. Bernard suggested that creole should be used beside french for all schools.

The constitution of 1987 enforced the idea by making Creole and French official languages.

Meaning that Creole is not just a national language, but official.

With that initiative from Haitian governments, Creole becomes more and more important....

Haitian Creole is a French-based creole. influences from West African languages which were spoken by the overwhelming majority of slaves in Haiti, but the basic lexical structure of the language is French in origin. Thus, it is generally considered a Romance language, but in many ways one that is quite unlike a typical Romance language.

A number of African languages have been identified as influencing the language, among them are Wolof, Fon, Mandingo, and Ewe.

Being Haitian, I wish to learn about my roots.
I want to create an Archive of Haitian Creole Words, for my own use as a Study Guide / Reference. I will also search and link existing pages about Kreyol.
