The second stanza reinforces the
information given to us in the first, and then describes the love between
Annabel and the narrator.
The first line tells us that they have been in love since they were children.
He
describes the love as “a love that
was more than love”(line 9). He than says the love was “a love that
the
winged seraphs of heaven / coveted
her and me” (lines 11&12). Seraphs are angles who are of the
highest
class. Poe is saying that
the love between Annabel and the narrator is one so great and special that
the
highest of angles would desire
it.
