The Commonwealth of the Bahamas

In the summer of 1999, Shoals was presented with the challenge of airborne lidar surveying in the Bahamas. "SWEET!", we all thought.. however, the truth was much more terrifying. Quickly we came to know a place called AUTEC (Atlantic Underwater Test and Evaluation Center), a place used by many a Navy to take advantage of the Tongue of the Ocean, a part of the ocean that is extremely deep and acoustically perfect.
I now take you to Andros Island. The largest, yet least populated island in all of the Bahamas. Some would call it desolate. Some would call it torture. But we, would call it home.
