Hawai'i : The Big Island


Stats:
Hawai'i is the largest island of the entire Hawaiian chain (~4,000 Sq Miles) and is getting larger every day. It is made up of 5 different volcanoes. "None are truly dead, but only Mauna Loa and Kilauea make regular apperances." -Big Island Revealed, Doughty/Friedman. Located on this island is Mauna Kea, the tallest mountain in the world, measuring 13,796 feet from the ocean floor to its peak!
