| The Grove has been home to Halesowen Town since it's birth in 1873, and with the imminent demise of the Drill Field (home to Northwich Victoria) is set to become the oldest football ground in the world. The ground itself originally hosted cricket and the old pavilion was on the site of the clubhouse, which was built in 1997. The rest of the old cricket ground still exists and is now a recreation ground next to The Grove. | |||||||
The Old Hawne
Lane End Affectionately known as "The Shed"
it is the oldest stand on the ground and dates back to
the mid- fifties. Pictures of it almost half a century
ago can be found in the clubhouse of Halesowen Harriers
along the Stourbridge Road at Hayes Park, Harriers shared
The Grove until their current home was built in the early
eighties. "The Shed" received a face-lift in
1990 when the club re-surfaced its terraces with stepped
standing. It is the most atmospheric of the four stands
at The Grove |

The Stourbridge
Road End![]() The Stourbridge Road End took its current shape during the regeneration of the ground in 1990. Prior to that it was a grass bank for many years but success in the FA Vase and elevation to the Southern League deemed it unsuitable. The end was levelled off and had an ashfelt surface applied. Today it offers the best view of play and has stepped terracing along with crush barriers. |

The Harry Rudge StandBuilt in 1987 the Harry Rudge stand is named after the clubs former secretary/manager/chairman who worked for Halesowen Town over a period of many years. Sadly Harry Rudge died in 1990 and a plaque is present in his memory at the stand's entrance. The cantilevered stand currently holds 499 people after its refurbishment in 1998 and later in 2002. It replaced a wooden stand that stood for many years, but part of the stand's frame can still be seen behind the current stand. |

The Recreation
Park Side![]() This side did not exist until the ground was made into a four sided venue during the mid 1980's. Now it is steeply banked with crash barriers. Originally it was planned that the side would be covered but this development seems to have been on hold for several years now. In 2001 a telecommunications mast was built behind it. |
