The following info is for a normal serve and play thru IRF. I can teach you how to do a dedicated server later.
First, before
you change any files, make a folder to store copies of any files you may change
in case there’s a problem you can always put back the original and be ok again.
Don’t worry though, there should be no problems at all. The file you need to
access is the "core" ini file in main Nascar4 folder.
Look for
these listings and change them accordingly, the following is how they should
look for IRF: Don’t change anything else, only the changes I show below:
[client]
to_sierra=0
[communications]
bcast_listserv=216.87.213.95
bcast_listserv_port=4555
[server]
to_sierra=0
These are
the only changes needed to host your own IRF serve and play.
To get the
name to appear in the "track" heading like i do with "FULL
VERSION", you will need to put that info in from inside the game where the
box says "Connection Type". Try to use a unique full version name so
we can tell the servers apart please.
Look for it
and you will find it. Kind of weird but it works somehow.
Try it out
and let me know how it goes.
Good Luck!,
Steve.
