ADDIS ABABA (Dec. 26) XINHUA - Ethiopian deputy Speaker of the House of Federation Mohammed Airaye, who suffered injury in a car accident, left here today for Tel Aviv, Israel for further treatment.
Mohammed was seen off at the airport by speaker and deputy speaker of parliament, Minister of Transport and Communications Abdulmejid Hussein and other government officials, the Ethiopian News Agency reported.
Mohammed was injured when a land cruiser he was on board bumped into a hill due to clouding dust while on its way from Jijiga town to Dire Dawa town, in eastern Ethiopia in mid-December.
Prior to his departure, the deputy speaker has been treated in Harar Misrak Patriots Hospital and the Armed Forces Hospital here.
Legesse Yigzaw, staff member of the Armed Forces Hospital who accompanied Mohammed to Tel Aviv, said the deputy speaker suffers fractures in the right shoulder and thigh.
