Fitness
Dates and locations for fitness tests will be posted on the referee page of the Soccer Nova Scotia website when available.

Need help with your fitness training?  The SNS Referee Development Committee has developed a training program for you.

The fitness test consists of a 12 minute run (no stopping or walking allowed), followed by a 50m, a 200m, a 50m, and a 200m sprint.  The pass requirements for class and age groups are listed on the Soccer NS RDC website.

Provincial and Regional referees must pass the fitness test.  District referees, who aspire to be promoted to Regional, must pass the fitness test prior to their being accepted in the promotion program.

District referees are welcome to take the test and will be given preference (over non-fitness tested District referees) for assignments to the NSSL (Tier 1) and playoff games.  (Note: District referees normally require 2 years experience before being assigned to NSSL or Senior games).
