TKO Grand opening night: Reviewd by Dj IV

Let me start off by saying MADD ups to Tyler, u totally revamped the whole Halifax Skate scene with this place man, i think it's really gonna take off, lil pointer first of all, dont stress out on those slow days, remember the crash, we'll i lived that, it's not gonna b that bad dood. As for the night in question, it was TOTALLY f*ckin amazing. I've never been in a Dj Booth suspended in the air held up by the ceiling, i've been in a bus, stage, but never a booth held up by the ceiliing, that was pretty cool, when Rob (SixToo) got there he was a lil bit iffy, but it turned out not to b a problem. Things got underway when i got there, Tyler asked me to start wif sum hip hop, so i got up there, and like 10 mins through my set, Rob came up and we switched up mixers from my 06-T to his 07. SOOOOOOOOOOo much better, man i cant wait to get an 05. So ya i spun for about an hour n 10 mins, then Rob came up, took over playing sum PHAT reggee which was totally dope, then steering into sum hip hop, all the while during a skate ramp jam where the likes of Ian Kennedy, Selwyn Sharples, Chris L'Esperance just to name a few showed all of the onlookers how the EAST COAST ROCKS! Buck 65 took the stage, man that guy's got sum awsome trax, NWA and it's always a treat to hear the Centuar with live vocals, i luv that trak! Halifax's elite punk band The New Breed took to the stage, after a very nice set up by Buck 65, as he played the last 10 mins of his set a rock, hard rock style, totally setting the band up and switching the styles over. Sum punk was played, and then it was more from Sixtoo, he played a set, and then i got to play a set, very short and got cut shorter cause there was sum sort of Alarm going off outside, so Tyler decided to shut shit down, understandable cause i wouldnt want po po coming to my party either! hehehe, neways i had a blast, i'm sure alot of the people there had a blast, specially all the skaters, dj's, band members, and just everybody that was there, the breakdancing circle was so tight and the capoweara (excuse the spelling) was totally wicked. Tyler u got a good thing going on man, keep it up, thanks to Rob, yer such a cool guy, and Rich u played a bomb ass set man. Till next time. IV

Dj Olympics: Review by Dj IV

This years 2000 Dj Olympics F*ckin' kicked @SS. I attended Monday night @ the Khyber for the kick off and performance by N.A.B (u guys are kool), Thursday night @ the Marquee in which i participated in the Hip Hop/Turntablism competition, and Saturday night @ Splatshot for the Finals. A quick change in venues from the "old/new" Underground to Splatshot didnt seem to cause ANY problems which was dope, things took a lil while to start rolling b'cause they had to clean the floor downstairs in Splatshot, that place is messy hehhee. Oh we'll no worries they got it cleaned up. Thursday night was especially a night that i will NEVER forget personally, it was my first ever competition, i was nervious as hell *the judges/onlookers saw it too* hehehe, oh we'll i mean c'mon now first time ever in front of that many people you'd b a lil nervious too. Oh we'll i started my set, messed up my beat juggle, and as soon as i realized that i wasent gonna get the juggle back on trak i just kept going with my routine, finished it and the crowd gave me a very nice applause. I was so stoked coming off doing an ok run, people were coming up to me all night and complimenting me. I'm stoked!!! Buck 65 tottally ripped the house up with his "Whoo Ha" routine, that was AWSOME Rich. @ the end of the night after... Dr. Ekyle, Andrea, Nexus 6ix, Kuttin' Kracker, Sixtoo, Buck 65, and myself had finished and the judges had talled their scores up, there was a tie for 2nd and 3rd place, between Kuttin' Kracker and Sixtoo so they had to battle for who was gonna b in 2nd and 3rd place, Kuttin' Kracker took 2nd and Rob in 3rd. I was really happy with the way the night went, i came, showed my stuff, let people know that i'm on the scene now, had a chat with Skratch Bastard, talked to sum friends, it was a night i'll NEVER forget. Now onto Saturday night @ Splatshot... it started off with none other than the Hip Hop Finals. I was stoked cause that was the main reason i came to see the Olympics finals. The order was 1)Sixtoo, 2)Kuttin' Kracker, 3)Buck 65, and the returning champion from last year, Skratch Bastard going last. Each competitor had 2 runs of 3 minutes to show their skillz, it was really "heated" all night with each Dj taunting another either vocally or vynal wise it was amusing and interesting. During Skratch Bastard's last run, which was the last run for the 2000 Dj Olympics Hip Hop/Turntablism final, he broke out some Sebutones skill when he beat juggled a rip twords Buck 65, then juggled the song into a Star Wars theme which tottally blew everybody away, it's amazing that this guy can make so many creative riffs. With the end of that run everybody knew that the returning champion would keep his title. He was really stoked with his run too, i talked to him after his set and he was really really stoked on it, which was tottally rad cause he showed us something that we've NEVER seen before. After the Jungle/D&B finals got underway they opened the Downstairs and Dynamic Syncopation from U.K. started their set, which was dope cause it was LOUD and they had some wicked @SS beats. I was personally hoping for more of a battle style performance cause i really didnt have any idea who these guys were, but they did some skratches. They have really phat beats, hope u guys come back to Halifax soon!!! In the end it turned out:

1st Place - Skratch Bastard
2nd Place - Buck 65
3rd Place - Kuttin' Kracker

I was tottally amazed by this years events, and i so hope that they are going to be every year from now until ever cause it's such a wicked event and it lets deejay's show their skillz and like it did me let me show people that i'm here, give good expirence and to let people have a good time to listen to some good tunes. Of course i cant forget that to the Olympics there are also House/Techno/Trance, Jungle/D&B, and Teams Competitions as we'll as Hip Hop/Turntablism and all of those catagories have some CrAzY phat deejay's as we'll, these boyz and girlz can mix and make it sound so phat. Neways i have to give MADD ups to Sammy D for putting on the Olympics along with all of his help, sorry i dont know your names, all the Competitors who came out, gave it a go, qualified or not you guys rock. Cant wait until next year, keep it coming Sammy! Lates.

3 Day GITML party Review of Mr Dibbs, Buck 65, Skratch Bastard n Kuttin Kracker

Oh man if u missed this night then WHERE THE HELL WERE U? Where can i start??? Lets see, i got there and the whole party was soooo un organized i met up with Paul and Joe (Bastard N Kracker) they were set to go on in about an hour, like almost 2 hours later they got on, they ripped so bad, it was so dope these 2 totally know whats up they worked the crowd real good, aside from some technical difficulties at the start of the set everything was pretty dope, they took turns cutting on trax, mixing wicked ass hip hop, it was bomb. Dibbs... MAN this guys awsome, between his stage antics and his music i dont know what was better, it was awsome he had sumwhat of a "Rock" theme all night, no not the wrestler, the music! Playing such trax as Black Sabbath, Rage Against the Machine and more, half way through his set he dared ANYBODY in the audience 50 bux to drink 2 2L of milk, Narden a popular raver got up there cas she thought she had the gutz, so start chuggin she did, had almost all of 1 of the 2L's down and then she spewed up a lil, turned around not facing the crowd, then turned back to us and PUKED HER FAKIN GUTS UP it was so sick because it was all white, i never seen anybody puke like that before, so it was so narly, Dibbs had sumbody filming the whole ordeal for his new video, so i heard, after he gave Narden the 50 bux she left, Dibbs proceded to dance in the puke then he whiped it up with his hand showed it to the camera and then he took another whipe and licked it! This action turned EVERYBODY's head in SICKNESS! It was so narly, but deffinatly a highlight of the night! it was awsome, that Dibbs guy puts on a great show! Buck 65 had a nice set, thats all i'm gonna say because i tried to talk to Rich after his set, and he ignored me! It was a great event, i had a blast and i know alot of other people did too!
