You really expected more to go on here, but all of the Who's were behind locked doors. You saw all of their red eyes peeking out of the windows along the darkened, foggy streets where the Grinch tried to scare you. There was creepy music throughout the whole island, and the lighting was very gloomy.

Haunted Houses

There's something disturbing about this small town mortuary. The bodies just don't want to stay dead -- and they don't want YOU to leave!

Sometimes you hear people say that Halloween Horror Nights isn't worth the price that they charge, but think of it this way. If you go to a haunted house out of Halloween Horror Nights, the average price to go through it once is between $10 or $20 and the houses aren't that great. At Halloween Horror Nights, you get in for $40 something dollars and get a haunted park, including rides and 4 good haunted houses, and 1 great haunted house that beats the ones that charge the high prices. The one great Haunted house that I'm talking about is the Scream House...

Alfred Cane was the Caretaker of a mortuary that he and his family ran from his house. He was obsesed on experimenting with how much pain the human body could handle. When people found out that a lot of his "patients" weren't dead before he started his work on them, people were outraged. An angry mob was formed, and they burned down Cane's "Scream House." After the fire, Cane disappeared...until now.

Four teenagers disappeared, last seen entering the burned out remains of the mortuary. You are following their steps, trying to figure out what happened to them, and you find out that Cane is still running his experiments in the burnt out remains of his "Scream House." Now, it's up to you to get out alive, and escape back into Islands of Fear, where the Caretaker has assembled some of the scariest monsters to inhabit the many islands of what's nomally Islands of Adventure!

The Scream House was located in a Soundstage between Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. You entered along a torch lit boardwalk through a graveyard until you got to the soundstage that was decorated with posters of the Caretaker, and an image of a graveyard on the huge door of the soundstage. You entered, and were "outside" of the remains of Cane's Scream House. After waiting on line a little here, you entered the house seeing what was left of the "normal" part of the house. You walk down a few hallways lined with pictures, stained glass windows, pianos, and statues, until you enter a room with a large coffin in the middle of it. Then you move on to where Cane still preformed his experiments. This room was rather gross, with bloody, cut up bodies surrounding you, some of them still being alive, and Cane's assistants trying to get you to join the collection. When you escape this room, you pass some more gross scenes like skined faces sewed together making up walls, all with you being chaised by Cane's monsters. Then you go outside (still in the soundstage, complete with lightning), and are attacked by statues, zombies coming from all directions (above you too), and even the grim reaper...Then, if you survived through all of this, you made it out, and escaped back to Islands of Fear.

This had to be the most detailed haunted house that I have ever seen a park do that is in a soundstage, only to be in operation for a little more than a month...

But then I went to Busch Garden's Howl o Scream. As good as this Haunted House was, all of the haunted houses there were as good as this, or better! Visit Woofboy's Guide to Howl O Scream for more information.

Cat in the Hat (on peak nights only)

All of the rides here were open, dispite it was a non peak night. Cat in that Hat had no change, but the other two rides had a change of music. They played the same creepy music that was played throughout the whole island, and had creepy lighting on them.
