Well its officially been confirmed; Malcolm McDowell WILL be returning as Dr. Sam Loomis in Rob Zombie's H2! The most important casting decision/announcement of the film in my opinion! The movie starts shooting February 23rd!

Well first of all, HAPPY FRICKIN' FRIDAY THE 13TH to all you fellow horror buffs out there! I'm sure all of our American friends are racing out to their local cinemas today for the opening day of the Friday the 13th remake! For all you Australian fans waiting to see Jason reek havoc again, we have to wait 'till March 12th! UK fans? I'm not sure but I'm guessing it isn't opening over there today either?!?!

In HALLOWEEN related news though ... MORE CASTING NEWS! Bill Moseley and Caroline Williams have recently been cast in the new entry to the series. Fans of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films may recognise these two names from the 1986 sequal to the original.

Some people seem to criticize Rob Zombie for doing casting announcements in dribs and drabs. I however commend the man! Zombie seems to create a "hype" around his Halloween films which I believe play a tremendous part in their success! Well how successful the next one will be is yet to be known. However, by releasing dribs and drabs of information he is keeping the Halloween community involved and interested in the process. If he was to simply cast the enitre cast and release it all at once I believe the community would become less interested waiting around for months on end for any kind of news. Zombie creates a "buzz" around his films and kudos to him for it!

Disagree? Feel free to come and discuss in our Forum.

MORE CASTING NEWS!!! Finally Daeg Faerch has signed on the dotted line and will be returning to the series as young Michael Myers. This casting announcement can give a very fair indication that the film will be using "flashbacks" to enhance the story. Brea Grant from TV'S "Heroes" has also been cast to play a work collegue of Laurie.

In other casting news, Malcolm McDowell has spoken out in a recent interview stating that while he has infact "signed on" for three Halloween movies the reason for him not "officially" signing on for H2 is due to the Weinsteins brothers. McDowell and the brothers are apparently in hard negotiations at the moment. Weinstein brothers, if by any chance you are on this site readinng this ... GIVE THE MAN WHAT HE WANTS! Never in my life did I think there would be a person out there that could come close to mastering the role of Loomis aswell as the late Donald Pleasence ... but my god, you've come close! DO NOT try and cast another Loomis!!!

Will keep you all posted on news as it develops. In the meantime head on over and discuss the latest casting news in our Forum.
