Tea Room: Dolls and Cones Mariska Mariska has the samovar heated and Russian Tea cakes baked for your enjoyment and relaxation. This old Baba brought her baking skills over with her in the early 1800's, when she immigrated with her family to the coal fields of Pennsylvania. The 'Old Country' skills are simply not to be compared. The house spirits are partial to her sweet Babkas and her kindly grandmotherly disposition. So, sit down at one of the many delicately draped tables and start up a chat over a cup of heavenly warm ghostly tea and sweets.
Layered
tissue paper gives each cone a sturdy frame. Vintage postcard
images and candy corn paper cover the exterior. Glitter, metallic
stars, moons, and wonderful vintage Victorian fringe decorate
each cone. Only the devil postcard paper lacks the fringe. They
make a bold statement as a focal point for decorating. Hang from
ceiling or chandelier. Can hold lots of goodies. "Tea!
Thou soft, thou sober, sage, and venerable liquid, thou female
tongue-running, smile-soothing, heart-opening, wink-tipping
cordial, to whose glorious insipidity I owe the happiest moment
of my life, let me fall prostrate." Colley Cibber, The Lady's Last Stake, 1708.
