Girl Sout Hair Drive

* The reason for this Girl Scout Hair Drive is to help others in need when they may lose their hair from chemo, from alopecia or from other medical conditons. Wigs will be made with the donated human hair for those in need. At the same time when helping others, Girl Scouts have an opportunity to also earn the Girl Scout Silver Award, plus three other awards. We learn many life skills throughout the entire project.
Hair Donations will be taken from 2/14/2005 through 2/14/2006.
Please follow the guidelines below.
* Your hair must be clean and dry.
*It must be 10-12 inches in length. If you have more to donate, great!! You may pull curly hair straight to measure the minimum 10 inches.
* Hair that has been cut and saved can be donated! SO DONATE YOUR HAIR TO US NOW OR LATER. Any hair donation may be made from Valentine's Day 2005 through Valentine's Day 2006.
*Secure braid and /or ponytails tightly bundled with rubber bands.
*Anyone can cut your hair as long as the above guidelines are followed.
* On a 3X5 card or on a piece of paper, please include your information of who made the hair donation. Include your first and last name; street address; apt/suite; city; state; zip code; age (if minor); e-mail address so we can thank you.

ABOUT HILARY AND CHLOE Hi, my name is Hilary. My friend, Chloe and I are working together on this hair drive project. Chloe and I are both 14 years old. We both know what it feels like to experiences differences in life. Chloe has Down Syndrome and I have scleroderma; a swallowing problem; neuropathy in my hands, arms and legs; a bad bone dysplasia of my hands and feet; insulin resistance problem with acanthosis nigricans and other health problems. One thing I love to do is donate my hair. I saw this on Oprah Show years ago, so I decided to do it, because growing my hair out was easy for me to do. On my first hair donation,I donated 19 inches of my hair November 2000. I made my second hair donation of 16 inches, May 2003. This will be my third hair donation.
