Monthly Feature: He never preached!
Sai Baba was a great saint who lived in Shirdi, Maharashtra, India from the year 1854 until 1918 when he entered Mahasamadhi. Sai Baba never preached nor did he deliver any sermons. Neither has Sai Baba any philosophical compositions to his credit. Hence, he was not theoretically a philosopher as were Kapila and Sankara or Kaul and Hegel or Whithead and Russell. And yet his way of life has influenced far many people than have a thousand books of armchair philosophers. Baba had no needs and no desire for anything material. If he was living, it was for
not himself, but wholly in order to do good to others. Only for this purpose, he maintained his body, for the physical sheath itself he didn’t care a whit. This completely selfless fakir was even in unison with God and that is why his very presence had an elevating influence on those who came for his darshan, and that darshan taken even once was enough to transform even a casual visitor-an atheist to a believer, a pessimist into an optimist, a sinner into a God’s man.
Philosophers have written dissertations and treatises, but these by themselves have not changed the world. A great philosophy moulds a certain Man of Destiny who by his deeds brings about great reforms and even revolutions. Sai Baba was such a man of action - a living embodiment of many former philosophies. Therefore by "philosophy of Sai Baba", we mean his way of life which exemplified certain principles.
Sai Baba identified himself with all creatures in nature - not only human beings, but birds and beasts, reptiles and insects. Not for him was the man-woman distinction. Differences of man made caste and creed had no place in the eyes of Sai Baba. That Sai Baba never revealed his caste and religion has a deep significance. Sai Baba brought to practice the equality of people once they stepped into Dwarakamyi, they are neither rich nor poor, neither a Raja nor Praja (subjects), neither landlord nor a laborer. The common meals, which Sai Baba cooked and served with his own hands in Dwarakamyi, were an object lesson in equality. It was just for this reason that Baba never consented to be a Guru and never made any disciples by himself, for this institution of Gurus leads to ownership and property rights, which Baba strictly opposed.
This prophet of the modern world literally lived by example, the principles of the humanity. That is Sai Baba’s philosophy, if it can be so called.

Devotees Experiences
The Motherly Presence of Sai.
Rama Kolla, Eagan, MN
Shri Satchidanda Sadguru Sainath Maharaj ki Jai
Who can gauge his miracles or leelas? He is always there for you whenever and wherever you think of him. My personal experience "whatever bad thoughts or deeds you do, with or without your knowledge, tell him". Its not that he doesn't know it. But by letting out and letting him know like confiding in your best friend who doesn't let out your secrets, you are in a way realizing and repenting for what you did."
This incident happened to me in the year 2002. My husband got a project (permanent) in Birmingham, AL. He had to leave for Birmingham. I was alone in an apartment in Eagan in Minneapolis/St. Paul. My friends Shalini & Kishore, Saritha & Vivek, Anitha & Vijay, Shailaja & Reddy, Jayashree & Madhu, Sirisha & Shrikanth, Roopali & Ryan, Nalini & hr husband took very good care of me. They were there when I had to go to malls or some other place, as I had no car because my husband took the car with him to Birmingham. I used to get very scared during the nights, as that was the first time I was alone. It was the month of October and all the spooky movies were on TV. I was not working, so my daily routine was to watch TV or browse the net the whole day and sometimes my friends used to call me. I used to dread the
nights. I pray to God daily before going to bed. Every day from the 25 th Sep [the day my husband left for Birmingham] until November 19 2002 when we finally moved to Birmingham, I used to smell sandalwood. We had a sandal wood statue of a lady from Lepakshi. Is it not a miracle that I could smell the sandalwood only during that time daily? I really felt Baba's presence while I was sleeping, as I am a very light sleeper. I used to talk to him as some people would to an imaginative friend, a doll, or a thing. I used to feel better. Until today, I can smell the sandalwood, not daily of course. This is how he was there for me, made me feel his presence in the form of a smell. I thank all my friends who have helped me through those months all alone. So, try my idea of telling him everything. I also fight with Baba sometimes if I find anything unjustified.
Please let me know your experiences regarding my idea of telling him what you did or thought. Not what you thought of course but how you felt after you let out. I pray that Sai should bestow his blessings on all of us on this earth. More of his leelas to come in the upcoming SAI Sandesh features.
Shri Satchidanda Sadguru Sainath Maharaj Ki Jai.
Sai's Miracles

OM Shree Ganeshaya Namaha!
OM Shree Sainathaya Namaha!
RAJADHIRAJA YOGIRAJA SAINATH MAHARAJ KI JAI!
I bow to the lotus feet of Sri Sadguru Sainath Maharaj and pray for his blessings to share following His Sweet Leela. From the beginning of this year 2004, I started doing Kakad Arati to Baba every morning at home around 6:30am. And at the end, I do chant the “Rajadhiraja Yogiraja Parabrahma Sainath Maharaj, Shree Satchidananda Sadguru Sainath Maharaj ki Jai” with high pitch and with long stretch as like in Sai Arati cassettes, and to the best I can. I love doing the last charanam (try as much as concentration & love) and my little one (my son 2 years old) joins he and me also tries shouting as high as he can. He joins his voice in the prayer couple of times in a week. He loves that, and my wife enjoys watching him doing.
At times a thought used to come into my mind that “I should get a chance to do the last charanam in Prayer center and Celebration-satsangs”. As we know, our mind is not in one’s control for common persons like us. We cannot control the thoughts that arises in our mind, a varieties of thoughts good and bad both flashes in our mind with its own liberty, sometimes without our wish, it does not need our permission. And we know controlling mind is the most complex and only learned souls can do it. Once during Prayer center clean up, audio system was packed that week-end (Feb ’04), hence I got a chance to do the last charanam also in prayer center, thus a part of my wish fulfilled. Few months passed, still I used to get this wish once in a while into my mind. And now let us see how Baba played HIS miracle.
SSPC planned to celebrate Sri Ramanavami event on Apr’3rd. On April 2nd (Friday) night 10pm our garage door was not working and my car is inside the garage. I was worried very much as we had Sri Ramanavami event festivities next day and I need to go in the afternoon for stage decorations/arrangements. Talk to couple of friends, I was told that we can open it manually if it’s not working. Next day morning (Apr’3rd) as I was doing my regular daily worship in the morning, I got a message. My inner voice told me “You will see a miracle today!” I felt happy, I thought garage door will be automatically fixed and will be opened. No, it was not working. My neighbor told me spring got broken so we cannot open it even manually, this made me
worried as I cannot take my car out. Called couple shops and everyone was saying they will come in the evening or next day (Sunday). I prayed to Baba again and again, made a call to another shop, and got the positive response that he will be there by 12:30 noon and it will take an hour to fix it. I was happy. With Baba’s blessings, Technician came at 11am only fixed by 12noon. I was happy and went to Geeta Ashram for the event work and celebrations. As the day was passing, I was still looking waiting for miracle to happen and wondering myself when and where it will happen. I was curious in the morning but as the day passing, I started feeling disappointment.
Ramanavami event started as we planned at 3:30pm and program was going well with Baba’s blessings. And slowly I forgot about miracle that was due. Abhishekam to Baba done, Archanas and Dhoop Arati started. I was sitting at the entrance giving Arati tickets to devotees. I enjoyed Dhoop Arati from entrance itself, singing arati-prayers from there itself. In the middle of the Dhoop Arati, due to some problem, audio system started re-playing Arati CD from beginning and hence audio system was stopped and devotees continued singing Arati chorus. It almost came to the end, then came a flash in my mind, my inner voice told me that “go to the stage and sing the last charanam, audio system is not working and this is the chance for you, Baba wants to fulfill your wish”. I haven’t moved from my place, surprised and
still thinking. Then again next message “Hurry up, go, do not hesitate, this is for you”. Until that time I didn’t realized that this is the occasion for me to sing my favorite charanam. In next two minutes, I reached to the mike (stage) and it was the time to do the last charanam . I did sing my favorite charanam “Rajadhiraja Yogiraja Parabrahma Sainath Maharaj, Shree Satchidananda Sadguru Sainath Maharaj Ki Jai” with high pitch and long stretch. I was very happy as the message that I got in the morning that “I will see His Sweet miracle” became true, and thus our dear lord Sai fulfilled my wish.
Oh Sai! How can I praise you and your sweet leelas. I can only say that WE, all his devotees, are luckiest humans on the earth as we are His devotees. Dorakuna ituvanti daivam! (How blessed we are, how lucky we are to be His devotees).

Quotation of the Month
The 'Sant' (Saint) and the 'Anant' (God) are one and the same; there is not the least difference between them. If anybody thinks that he will go himself and see a Saint, that will be a mere boast. Unless the Saint wills it, who is able to go and see him? Even the leaf of the tree won't move without his bidding. The more anxious a Bhakta is for the saint's visit, the more devout anf faithful he is, the more speedily and effectively is his wish satisfied to his heart's content. He who invites anybody for a visit, also arranges everything for his reception
