Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 25 in the Monroe ward
chapel for Edward Maroni Hunt, who died Saturday April 21. He had been
in the Roosevelt hospital for several weeks and was taken to Salt Lake
for further treatment.
Born September 23, 1880 at Monroe, Utah, a son of Moroni Hunt and
Emma Casto Hunt. When the Uintah Basin was opened for white settlers
he came here from Monroe and was among the first six families to
settle in Montwel. (Cedarview area) On August 8 , 1906 he Married
Candus (Candace)Janet Brown and brought her to his homestead where they
lived until 1932 when they returned to Monroe.
He is the father of twelve children, ten of whom survive him: four
sons, Dalton E. Hunt Richmond, Utah; George W. Hunt, Montwel; Ardell B.
Hunt, in the Air Force; Richard M. in the Navy and six daughters:
Mrs.Elva Wall; Mrs. Reita Hamblin Roosevelt; Mrs. Amy Stewart,Monroe;
Mrs. Jean Hamblin, Roosevelt; Mrs. Mary Curtis,Aurora. Utah; Mrs Dortha
Hill of Rosco California and thirty-four grandchildren.
Burial was in the Monroe cemetery.
