Scream

A new genre created by Wes Craven good story well acted and overall a good film. The film stars Drew Barrymore, Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox. The storyline is about two high School lads who go around a small country village and kill their friends. Good horror film and deserves credit for new genre.

I Know What you Did Last Summer

Another instalment from the writers of Scream but much better but is shocking how they got it to a 15 rating. The story is of some High School kids which knock down a man in the road suspect him dead throw him in the sea and have it sadly thrown back in their faces when the supposed dead returns for revenge starring Sarah Michelle Gellar.

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer

A slasher sequel to the superb original which took the Box Office by storm in 1997. Sadly the films beginning is relatively poor but it’s totally compensated by the middle and the fantastic end. The film stars both survivors from the original and has some new stars which sadly don’t make it to the end. The film stars the teenage heroine Brandy Norwood (Moesha) which is currently suffering from decline thankfully she survives this ordeal after many chances of being slashed by Ben Willis. The story has a very good storyline and a lot of gore which is absolutely terrifying. The sequel has three survivors Julie & Ray from the original and Karla (Brandy Norwood). For a change a sequel is better than the original and is one of the best horror films of the 1990’s

Scream 2

Much of the same as the first one but happens with new killers and in a drama college losing a number of survivors from the original and loses appeal after you’ve seen it once and the storyline puts you off any future after Internet rumours tell us that Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox have sign for 6 Screams. The Film stars Neve Campbell, Jamie Kennedy, David Arquette, Courteney Cox and Sarah Michelle Gellar

Friday The 13th

Good film but quite amazingly it hasn’t aged at all still great and keeps viewer on edge of seat at all times full of gore and action but is a little daft towards the end as the girl doesn’t try to defend herself by just running away from Mrs Vorhees until finally beheading her at the end when Jason jumps out of the water and attacks her.
9/10 ****

Friday The 13th Part 2

Good but not as good as the first one a good killer a hideous face but a good plot and and a lot of strange action this meaning that the film could’ve been better if Alice (The survivor from Friday the 13th had lived to tell the tale of the sequel.) I found this mediumly entertaining and quite frightening all death scenes are very elaborate and very gory and there is little chance of survival in this sequel perhaps Mrs Voorhees was better than Jason Voorhees at killing his victims.

Friday The 13th Parrt III

This part was a big improvement from part 2 but had a very small storyline this film had a lot of potential and never realised it. As Horror films are never known for surperb actors this one had really drab and pathetic actors. These actors failed to show the fear when Jason came to attack them they just quietly went Ahh! and then it was goodbye!. This was still very good and would have probably got a 9.5 if the acting was better.

Friday The 13th Part IV The Final Chapter

This Film is so far The Second best that I’ve seen it had a good storyline and probably the most impressive fact better actors this showed that the director had tried to improve the fact that Jason is very tough and it would take more than an axe to the head to actually kill him. Jason returns home and finds people nearby Crystal Lake and wants to destroy them so of course he did and they all perished apart from a 12 yr old boy and his older sister finally killed him and therfore Jason was destroyed which many people die trying to do!!.

Friday The 13th PartVI (Jason Lives)

This film had variable quality in most of it’s areas the beginning is good the middle is frightening but the end is only good as it went a little too blood thirsty and very violent.
Jason now a spiritual being and now next to indestructable Jason is now ruler of Crystal Lake
now renamed Forest Green but that didn’t stop stories of Jason in the area. This being Part VI it is very good quality overall as Jason is more powerful and respectful in this film and this aspect of the story made the film have much more chance of being a seqeul classic along the same lines as the original.

Jason Goes To Hell The Final Friday

Perhaps the final film in the Friday 13th a very ridiculous start a strange middle a poor storyline and really very disappointing the first three were much better we all expected more from this series but sadly I must critisize although Jason is dead what's there stopping there being another Vorhees somewhere else or as the future is near maybe even the ressurection of Mrs Voorhees only the future may tell what's in store for Friday 13th.

Candyman

A remarkable story and will terrorise a every viewer as the victims repeat his name in the mirror 5 times and are brutally butchered with a large hook. We learn a little about the story of how he was killed and how he came to kill all these people and you are shown where his hideout is. The film centres itself about a university reporter who is obsessed with The Candyman and goes in search of facts about all of his victims when she discovers a terrifying story that he has kidnapped a friends baby and she goes for revenge against The Candyman.

Candyman 2 Farewell To The Flesh

A superb sequel to the original which betters itself. The storyline is that we see of the Candyman’s Great Great Granddaughter who's is as normal as you and me until her mother is killed and she returns to her old house where her dead father had a room which was dedicated to The Candyman until the Candyman killed him but his Great Great Granddaughter finds a way to destroy him. The film ends with yet another chance for a sequel with his Great Great Granddaughter having a child and when she was four years old she said his name in the mirror four times until her Mum stopped her. Finally we find out all about the death and the resurrection of The Candyman.
8/10 ****

Halloween

The Original Michael Myers film and is the best in the series poor visuals but is totally compensated by the stunning story and the way it is acted out. A superb horror film and in every way possible it excites the viewers.

Halloween II

A follow up to John Carpenters masterpiece Halloween and strangely enough it happens on the same night that the original ended and in the sequel we find that Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is Michael Myers youngest sister.

Halloween III Season Of The Witch ( The Night No-one came home )

Absolute trash I think that Walt Disney’s Pocahontas was more frightening it’s boring very little death and most deadly of all No Michael Myers!!!! This has a very pathetic storyline and very boring middle and end and a very drab character plus some very strange theories I think that this should have been the last Halloween before they spoilt their name with these foul repulsive sequels.

Halloween IV The Return of Michael Myers.

Same as all of the others really but no Jamie Lee Curtis. A frightening start but A boring middle and an easily completed end with another chance for a sequel plus a very strange ending.

Halloween V

The Final Story of Michael Myers!! so we thought and hoped this is still quite poor and not up to the standard expected for John Carpenter an excellent start a fantastic middle but a over the top end and Michael Myers is able to return for another escapade. Halloween 5 is better than Halloween 4 but only just I think that they should just leave the story of Michael Myers to rest and leave the spotlight to any newcomers into the world of horror films.

Halloween 6 The Curse Of Michael Myers

A little boring here but it was still quite good maybe not as good as I & II but better than III and close to 4&5 this film didn’t have the same edge as Michael Myers has in other films as in other films he stalked his victims and then killed them but in this one he had a purpose to kill them all and you would see him look at them and then he’d kill them.But he was still butchering all residents of Haddonfield and returned to finish off his family

Halloween H20

Best film in the series apart from the original same as all the others but gives us excitement part after part and doesn’t bore. The series has gone too far with Michael Myers seeming dead at the end of every film but this time he is certainly finished as he ends up decapitated and cannot appear in any other films We Hope!! But he’ll probably get his head sewn back on.

A Nightmare On Elm Street

Very dated but still manages to creep and scare the viewers as Freddy Krueger slashes his victims with his fingers. But still the best film in the series.

A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2 (Freddy’s Revenge)

This films has a very poor start and makes you uneasy to watch the rest of the films the beginning is only just satisfactory the middle is very good and the end is fantastic. Just remember one, two He’s gonna come for you, three, four he’s at your door, five, six get your crucifix, seven, eight better stay up late nine, ten I’ll never sleep again.

A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3 (Dream Warriors)

This is the third instalment of the series which is one of the best it beats part 2 no problem but it’s not as good as the first. In this film some children in a mental home are harassed by Freddy until Nancy returns to find a way to bring all of the children into the dream to kill Freddy until she gets killed herself but Freddy again gets destroyed.

A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4 Dream Master

Despite this being Freddy’s 4th encounter it is still rather good it isn’t as good as Part 3 just, but it is much better than part 2. Perhaps Freddy will take some beating before he’s finished as Wes Craven always manages to be able to use Freddy for a number of sequels to the original without fading the quality of the first.

The Runestone

A film influenced by A Nightmare on Elm Street by the killer slashing his victims with his fingers but not nearly as good as Freddy Krueger poor story unelaborate death scenes and totally poor ending and also a very poor killer

The Exorcist

Badly dated boring poor visuals good bits missed and hardly a scary film apart from the creepy devils voice and the unnecessary swearing. The story is remarkably poor and may also not interest the fans of the genre. Meaning that you’re better reading the book than watching the movie at least then you don’t have to watch these tacky poor and very unrealistic special effects despite it being Digitally Re-mastered the visuals remain poor but the audio is superb.

Children of The Corn

Great film creepy and suits many sequels this films excites with it’s unique storyline and gory nature a film for all fans of classic horror films.

Children of The Corn II

A superb sequel to the original which isn’t the best in this series a fantastic unique storyline and a superb set of special effects to define this film as a classic horror film.

Pet Semetary

Pet Semetary has a very complex storyline it’s the classic creepers Indian Burial Grounds. A film not suitable for a small minded person but I think that this film may creep years later as the 3 year old child kills all of his family.

Night Of The Living Dead

A different storyline and unique make-up techniques. Predictable in place but still good entertaining yet a little over the top as all actors do the obvious opposite to what is wright. A Good film still but could have been a little better but really a little disappointing.

The House By The Cemetery

This film isn’t very good at all really it’s all ahhhh and ahhhhh as a about 7 year old boy screams like a girl making a total fool of himself. This film has no dignity to itself as they chose rubbish actors and a boring and pathetic storyline. This film has a start of very little quality a middle which is nearly satisfactory and an end where it is really really bad this film needs to be improved for a sequel (if they make one!!).

The People Under The Stairs

This film shows all viewers a massive scale of child abuse touching in places but also quite frightening. The film is a let down for Wes Craven and may also make some people laugh .This film is enjoyable and quite scary only that it must of been a story which was stretched further and made over the top and a hero 13yrs old.

Wes Craven’s Wishmaster

This is one of Wes Craven’s better films not as good a A Nightmare On Elm Street or Scream but better than some of his others less known films

Voodoo

This is a film which is very unknown and definitely not a classic horror film bur don’t take that as a degrading comment this film is good but sadly it never uses famous actors but is still creepy and gory in the idea of using Voodoo dolls to kill certain individuals a little pathetic but manages to reach a scare factor to which leaves your mind thinking about how or why anything like that could even happen.
