Star Wars Mistakes

Here are Some Star Wars mistakes or interesting things to look for in all of the films.

You may find some of these on the Website WWW.Movie-mistakes.co.uk and if you do that's because I sent them in.

Mistake 1 - Phantom Menace

At the beggining of the film we see two viceroys speaking to TC-14.  After the point when dofine says "I knew it! They're here to force a settlement" if you look closely at TC-14's left shoulder you can see the face of someone, maybe female.

Mistake 2 - Phantom Menace

When Qui-Gon, Anakin, Amidala, Shmi and Jar Jar are sat around the table, Qui gon says that to race pods you must have fast reflexes therefore Anakin must be a jedi. If this is true then would Sebulba make a good Jedi?

Mistake 3 - Phantom Menace

When the shield generator goes out on the ship and the R2 untis must go out to repair it. If you look at the speed of R2D2 then he moves extremely fast, a lot faster than he does on land.

Mistake 4 - Phantom Menace

When Darth Maul releases his probes they are quite small. Compare them to the ones in Empire Strikes back and you would see that they are considerably smaller. Does this mean that the advancement in technology has resulted in larger products?

Mistake 5 - Phantom Menace

When Qui-Gon and Maul are fighting on tattoine, Qui-Gon's lightsabre hits the handle of Maul's. This would do exactly the same as it does near the end of the movie except, that this time Maul is in a position wher he would have been chopped.

Mistake 6 - Phantom Menace

When Qui-Gon, Obi Wan and jar Jar goto rescue the queen on naboo we see Qui gon being a bit risky with his lightsabre. If you look closely at Qui-Gon when he is fighting the droids, you will see the lightsabre go through him when he is putting it away.

Mistake 7 - Phantom Menace

Near the end of the movie we have Qui-Gon and Darth Maul fighting with Obi Wan a fair way back. When the lasers change and Obi wan tries to dash through them in time he only jogs.

Mistake 8 - Phantom Menace

If Anakin made C3P0 from scratch, then how did he know the exact measurements whcih would allow him to fit into a shell like that of TC-14's

Mistake 9 - Phantom Menace

When Anakin is racing in his pod, we see shmi holding a device which follows Anakin wherever he goes. If this is the case then what is producing the images, as the camera is from above the pod and in open spaces i cannot see a camera.

Something to look for - Phantom Menace

When they first goto Tattoine, look for a tall man whose mother cannot knit.

When Anaking wins the pod race, look out for the little Greedo character as he does a hilarious dance.

Something to look for - Phantom Menace

After the shots of Darth Maul releasing his probes we see a shot of people walking around. If you listen carefully to the three Jawas which walk from left to right then you will hear one of them say shit.

Mistake 1 - New Hope (Special Edition)

When Han Solo and Greedo are talking we can see Han Solo turning into action man. The point is when Greedo fires at Han and he dodges out of the way

Mistake 2 - New hope

When the stormtroopers start to attack han on Mos Eisley thier bullets onlt scarpe the surface of the millenium Falcon, however when han Solo shoot shis lasers rip large holes inot the walls.

Mistake 3 - New Hope

When Leia and Luke are trapped over a large pit and must swing over it, the stormtroopers don't use their brains. They could simply get on their hands and knees and shoot the ankles of Luke and Leia, or Vice Versa.

The point is near when Millenium falcon is getting attacked by tie fighters and Luke and Han must goto the rescue. If you watch Chewbacca, especially after the part where the blast knocks C3P0 off his feet, you will see Chewbacca playing 'Insomnia' by Faithless on his controls, he's going nuts.

Mistake 1 - Empire Strikes Back

Luke uses a grappling hook and attaches himself to one of the At-At's. He then throws a bomb into the machine and then detaches the rope. He falls a great height, without breaking anything, In Episode one we see Qui-Gon and Obi wan falling from a great height so being a Jedi must mean you can fall from a great height.

Mistake 2 - Empire Strikes Back

After luke has blown one of the At-At's up with his bomb, we see a shot of some people running away from laser fire. If you watch one of the men running from right to left then you will see a laser shoot past him and hit the floor infront of him. Taken by surprise by the explosion, he loses his balance and then tries to regain it over a couple of steps. The actor finally falls over and accepts defeat. But he can't be dead as nothing hit him.

Mistake 3 - Empire Strikes Back

The camera cuts to a shot from low and in front of the AT-AT. Watch the AT-AT's rear left leg. Just before it falls, you can see a stick pop up from the ground to tip the leg, and eventually the entire AT-AT falls over.

Mistake 4 - Empire Strikes Back

Leia and Han become annoyed with Threepio's chattering, and Leia turns him off. However, if you watch him in the background, you can see his body move as he breathes.

Mistake 5 - Empire Strikes Back

Chewbacca enters the "junk" room to collect the remains of Threepio, and in the close-up scene of Threepio's head on the conveyor belt, you can see a reflection of the camera and several of the crew.

Mistake 6 - Empire Strikes Back

Yoda scolds our hero and decides to resurrect the ship himself. Luke is sulking off under a tree. Notice his jacket is undone, and hanging loose. After Yoda brings the fighter back up, Luke stares in awe. Notice now, that his jacket is zipped up tight.

Mistake 7 - Empire Strikes Back

The gang round a corner, and Leia stops to take a shot at some stormtroopers who are pursuing. The rest of them run into a door, and if you take notice, you will see the white sole of boots on

Mistake 8 - Empire Strikes Back

Leia maneuvers the Falcon underneath Luke, and Lando opens the top hatch to pull him in. Remembering it's sunset, AND they are underneath the floating city, the light is nearly blinding as the top hatch opens. However, it was quite dark during every other external shot of the city.

Mistake 1 - Return Of the Jedi

How come when the speeder bikes go over grass they don't create a breeze?

Mistake 2 - return Of The Jedi

In one of the shots we see a stormtrooper putting his foot on the pedal of a speed bike to increase its speed. However when a Ewok gets on a speeder bike he doesn't need to use the accelarator/Pitch control as he cannot reach it.

Mistake 3 - Return Of the Jedi

The pilots of the shuttle contact the Death Star crew who check the credentials of the shuttle. Notice all of the crew in the control room are wearing black gloves. When the shuttle's identification checks out, we see a close up of a computer terminal. A hand reachesin and presses a button lowering the shields, and this hand is not wearing gloves at all. 

Mistake 4 - Return Of the Jedi

Look at the full body shot of the holographic Luke. Luke, who normally has his lightsaber clipped to his left hip, now has it hung from his right hip. As well, his hair, which normally has a part on his left hand side, is now parted on the right.  Afterwards, just before Artoo turns the message off, we get a shot from behind Artoo, and Luke's hologram is visible on the extreme right of the screen. Luke's lightsaber is now hanging from hisleft hip where it normally is.

Mistake 5 - Return Of the Jedi

As Boba Fett nods to Boushh his costume is reversed due to the negative being flipped. The easiest part of his costume to see this on is his antenna, which is on the left-hand side of his head, whereas normally it would be on his right.

Mistake 6 - Return Of the Jedi

As we follow Fett's flight after being hit by Han, we cut to a scene showing the front half of a skiff. Luke then kicks one of Jabba's henchman. He very clearlymisses the man by a few inches, yet the man still tumbles to his doom nontheless.

Mistake 7 - Return Of the Jedi

At the very end of Palpatines and Vaders conversation, we are tight on the Emperor. He is walking past a series of grey suited officers. But when we instantly cut to a wide angle shot, they are now in front of rows of stormtroopers.

Mistake 8 - Return Of the Jedi

Leia asks Wicket if he wants some food. She holds it out to him in her left hand. However, in the next shot, the food has switched hands, and is now in her right.

Mistake 9 - Return Of the Jedi

Luke tells Threepio to tell the Ewoks that if our heros are not set free, that he will use his magic. If you look on the right of the screen, Artoo is standing untied, even though at that point in the movie he had not been untied yet.

Mistake 10 - Return Of the Jedi

Han says "You stay here, we'll take care of this." Leia turns and she Can be seen with a very large smile, even showing her teeth. When the camera instantly cuts to a different angle of the scene, Leia is no longer smiling, displaying a deadpan look.

Mistake 11 - Return Of the Jedi

An imperial in black appears from the right of the screen in front of the ledge with the railing. Han throws the container in his hands at the imperial. If you notice, the imperial actually begins to jump over the railing before the box even hits him.

Mistake 12 - Return Of the Jedi

When Luke somersaults over up to a platform above him when fighting Vader, If you look at the hair of Luke jumping, you will notice that the stunt double's hair is much more blonde than Mark Hamill's.

Mistake 13 - Return Of the Jedi

Vader tosses the Emperor and then collapses on some barrels next to the railing. Look at Vader's arm - the one with the severed hand. His arm is bent at the forearm in a way that arms just don't bend. This is because the actor's hand was inside an "elongated" arm to simulate it being chopped off. The actor was unable to keep his wrist straight, therefor giving the appearance of a bent forearm.

Something to look for – Return Of The Jedi

Leia leans back, and Han rushes over to see if she's alright. While pushing her out of the line of fire, his right hand grabs Leia's left breast.
