Tall with broad oblong leaves up to 25cm long, hairy on veins beneath, the lower heart-shaped at the base. Flowerhead hanging, reddish-brown; June-October. Fruit valves triangular, toothed, one swollen. Very common plant on grassy waste-ground. Leaves are traditionally used to soothe Nettle stings. (The two plants are often found together.)
