Common Cleavers (Galium aparine)
Straggling medium/tall, clinging to animal fur and human clothing by numerous tiny down-turned prickles on stems, leaves and fruit. Leaves long and thin, in whorls of 6-8. Flowers dull white, in small stalked clusters at base of and longer than leaves; May-September. Fruit green or purplish.

The plant seems sticky: found on grassland or hard ground.
