Common Vetch (Vicia sativa)
Variable short/medium, clambering and downy. Leaflets 3-8 pairs, varying from almost linear to oval, tendrils sometimes unbranched; usually a dark spot at base. Flowers 1-2, reddish purple, 10-30mm; April-September. Pods downy or hairless, black to yellow-brown.

A less common vetch, despite its name. Look for it in meadow grassland, climbing up other plants.
