Great Wood-rush (Luzula sylvatica)
Stout, leafy plant, patch-forming by runners. Leaves long and glossy - like a grass, but wider (up to 2cm wide). On tall stems (up to 80cm), the flowerhead is a widely-spreading, forking cluster, with many small groups of 2-5 brown flowers; April-June. Fruit is brown and egg-shaped.

A few plants by the stream beyond far meadow (the leaves being the most obvious feature).
