Common Lime (Tilia x vulgaris)
Spreading tree up to 30m tall, with smooth, dark brown bark and large lumps on trunk; young twigs more or less hairless. Leaves large, heart-shaped with prominent veins. Flowers 5-petalled, yellowish and fragrant, in small clusters; July. Fruit a small round nut.

A favourite tree for planting by driveways.
