Michaelmas Daisy (Aster novi-belgii)
Medium/tall, well-branched, almost hairless. Stems usually dark. Leaves long and pointed. Flowers have yellow disc florets and purple petals, in widely-branched clusters; August-Nov.

A 'garden escape' which has established a small colony near the compost bins.
