Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur)
Spreading tree up to 45m tall; bark rugged, grey-brown, twigs and leaves almost hairless. Leaves oblong, wavy-edged, the bottom lobes usually overlapping the very short stalk. Flowers greenish-yellow, in hanging clusters; April-May, same time as leaves. Fruit a nut (acorn) in a long-stalked scaly cup.

Common tree with distinctive leaves, found especially along the north boundary of the meadow.
