Hybrid Oak (Quercus x rosacea)
Spreading tree up to 45m tall; bark rugged, grey-brown, twigs and leaves almost hairless. Leaves oblong, wavy-edged, tapering into stalk after the smallish bottom lobes. Flowers greenish-yellow, in hanging clusters; April-May, same time as leaves. Fruit a nut (acorn) in a long-stalked scaly cup.

The leaves are quite distictively different from normal Oak (to the practised eye).
