Ribwort Plantain (Plantago lanceolata)
Low/medium, hairless or downy. Leaves very long and pointed with obvious lines, slightly toothed, all from a rosette on the ground. Flowers brown, in short blackish flowerheads on furrowed stalks; April-October.

One of Europe's commonest plants: found on short grass or in meadow.
