Medium/tall, slightly hairy, stems often purple. Leaves, sometimes tinged whitish, made up of sub-divided leaflets (similar in appearance to a fern). Flowers white, in an umbrella-shaped cluster; April-June. Fruit long, oblong, beaked, aromatic when crushed.
