Wild Oat (Avena fatua)
Tall grass, up to 1m. Flowerhead a loosely-spreading cluster of hanging flowers, which open when ripe, fall apart easy, and have a long, bent bristle (awn); June-August.

Found only as a 'weed' in flowerbeds and occasionally elsewhere.
