· Technology User Support Groups (TUSG)
15 Hamilton faculty members, Lead Technology Teacher
(TTL), have been trained to facilitate the TUSGs. The goals of the
TUSGs are to: help teachers to use the Connected University for on-line
training; train teachers to be proficient in the use of instructional technology;
and help teachers to integrate instructional technology into the curriculum.

· Connected University (CU)
CU is an on-line training service funded by the Hamilton
DHS program. The CU web-site provides classes, tutorials and other
assistance regarding the use of instructional technology. Faculty
members may see their TTL for information about how to access the CU web-site.
Staff Development Schedule 2000 - 2001
August 29 On-campus workshops led by Hamilton faculty
(Buy-back day) Workshops on Aug. 29 and 30 included the use
of: probe-ware, Internet (applied to the classroom) and Powerpoint software.

August 31 TUSG Sessions
(Pupil-free day) Sessions included: instruction in how to connect the classroom
computer to a television monitor and how to use the Connected University
program.
November 22 TUSG Sessions
Sessions included: how to register for and use LAUSDNet service and how
to use the Connected University program.
January 16 Period-by-period faculty meetings
(The Hamilton Instructional Technology Compensation Plan was introduced
to the faculty and the CDE visit was previewed)

Meeting Activity Description
TUSG Sessions:
Direct training to faculty by the Hamilton Lead Technology
Teachers. The group ratio is one Lead Teacher to 12 teachers. The
group members will determine the spring semester training schedule.
School meetings:
Teachers will develop Electronic Portfolio requirements
Department meetings:
Teachers will develop Electronic Portfolio requirements.
Department meeting time is also set aside so that teachers may demonstrate
effective practices that involve instructional technology.
