Background

During the 1999 – 2000 school year, Hamilton implemented a State of California Digital High School (DHS) Grant program.  The first year of the program provided $ 894,000 in matching funds to install computer hardware and software on campus.   The overall goal of the DHS program is to integrate the use of instructional technology into the Hamilton curriculum.

One of the objectives of the Hamilton DHS program is for teachers to acquire Instructional Level of Proficiency (California Technology Assistance Project Standards) in the use of computers in the classroom.  In order to facilitate this, a portion of the second year grant funds has been allocated to compensate teachers who have demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and have successfully used instructional technology in their classes.

After demonstrating each of the skills outlined in this document, a teacher will receive a stipend of $ 300.
