Revised: 3-6-01POWERPOINT SOFTWARE – CURRICULUM INTEGRATION
A teacher will provide evidence of a student/class assignment that requires the use of Microsoft Powerpoint (presentation) software.The Technology Lead Teacher (TLT) will check off each element after it has been satisfactorily demonstrated.
A satisfactory Powerpoint lesson will require students to use:
__ At least six slides, each with text.
__ At least two action buttons (to link to another slide, or to animate an object).
__ Transitions from slide to slide.
__ At least three examples of different animation effects, i.e. sound, fade or wipe.
__ Appropriate bibliographic citations of material copied or adapted from other sources
(Modern Languages Association (MLA) standard – see www.sccd.ctc.edu/~library/mlacite).__ An effective design or layout that can be easily viewed when the classroom computer is
connected to a television monitor (See appendix B)In addition, teachers will:
__ Review with students proper outlining techniques before the students use the Powerpoint
software.__ Identify, in writing, the State of California content standards that have been incorporated
into the lesson.__ Describe, in writing, how the students will be assessed.
__ Demonstrate the lesson in class with students.
__ Meet with the TLT to review the lesson.

INTERNET – CURRICULUM INTEGRATION
A teacher will:
· Provide evidence of a student/class assignment that requires the use of the Internet.
and
· Demonstrate the lesson to a class.The Technology Lead Teacher will check off each element after it has been satisfactorily demonstrated.
A satisfactory Internet-based lesson will require students to:
__ Access a web browser.__ Use web page or search engine links.
__ Use bookmarks (Netscape) or Favorites (Explorer)
__ Copy and paste information from the Internet to a Microsoft Word file.
__ Narrow and broaden searches using keywords and natural language.
__ Use at least two different search engines.
__ Properly cite the source of the information from the Internet (according to the MLA
standard).In addition, the teacher will:
__ Identify, in writing, the State of California content standards that have been
incorporated into the lesson.__ Describe, in writing, how the students will be assessed.
__ Demonstrate his/her ability to use e-mail.
__ Demonstrate the lesson in class with students.
__ Meet with the TLT to review the lesson.

EXCEL (SPREADSHEET)
A teacher will provide evidence of his/her ability to use Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software.The Technology Lead Teacher will check off each element after it has been satisfactorily demonstrated.
A satisfactory Excel demonstration will show one’s ability to:
__ Enter data or information into the cells.
__ Change column/row width.
__ Insert columns and rows.
__ Format cells.
__ Create headings and titles in columns and rows.
__ Create formulas that calculate data OR Use the spreadsheet to create charts.
In addition, the teacher will meet with the TLT to demonstrate his/her mastery of the skills listed above.

In addition, teachers must provide Mrs. Bernier, Hamilton librarian, a disk of his/her Powerpoint, Excel and Internet based lesson(s) so that they can be shared with other Hamilton teachers.
