research ethics committee

 

The Research Ethics Committee  works on behalf of research participants to ensure that they are not subjected to unacceptable risks or practices during the course of their participation in research studies.

All research projects involving human participants at any of the hospitals of the Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust must be approved by a Research Ethics Committee. Currently, research studies undertaken at either Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea or Acton Hospitals are considered by the Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea and Acton Hospitals Research Ethics Committee. Research that is undertaken at Charing Cross Hospital is reviewed by the Riverside Research Ethics Committee.
