This charming museum is located a brief train ride away from Central London in Greenwich, the home of the Maritime Museum and the Millennium Dome. It contains two different displays. The first is permanent and serves as an introduction to fans, their history, how they are made, the materials used and the various types and sources of fans. The other display is in the main gallery and is an exhibition based on a theme. This exhibition changes four times a year. The museum undertakes conservation and restoration of fans as well as having fan-making workshops. There is a wonderful gift shop with fan related items.
