PURCHASING FANS

Fans can still be purchased at flea markets and antique shops, auction houses, as well as on the www. However, fans are getting scarce due to the wear and tear they receive from improper handling. Another reason for their scarcity is that many fans are cross-collectibles  or double-collectibles , being sought after by two different collectors. For instance, a collector of Worlds Fair memorabilia as well as a fan collector will show an interest in the same fan. Of course, most vintage clothing collectors collect fans. Fan collectors often find themselves searching through other collections to find a treasured fan.
