The Gates of Paradise : The Official Hand Fated Web Page

Hand Fated first saw the light of day in October '95. The band made it's bet on playing original songs right from their first day. 25th May of '96 would have been the date of their first gig in an Arena located in their hometown, Cascais, but due to an organization failure the band ended in not playing the show. This fact, plus musical divergence, led to the departure of the bassist/vocalist and co-guitarist. Founder Rodrigo and drummer Gonçalo recruited their friend Joel to fill up the bassist slot and later found another co-guitarist and singer. This second line-up lasted for 6 months and played gigs in local schools, parties and recreational associations, but the musical divergences emerged once again. The band tried to rescue itself by hiring a female voice, but after one and a half month it was clear that it didn't work. Both the singers and the co-guitarist left and once again the three searched for new members while working on their songs. October '98 saw the arrival of keyboard player Raul and one month after it was time for singer Luis to come aboard. Since then the band kept improving and played several shows in and around Lisbon. Currently they are making the pre-production of their first Demo, yet unnamed, which will include four songs : "Pure", "Angel Tears", "Beltane Fire (The Vision and The Voice)", and "Ânsia de Morrer", the only one sung in Portuguese. More to come…
