Race #1 |
|
| # 1 ART DOT COM | Gained the perfect trip last out and conditions then do exist now. He should have the two hole and be very strong in late stretch. |
| # 2 SPLIT IN TWO | Left from the 7 hole last out and gave cover to the top pick. He should be a little stronger in that role tonight as he gains post relief. |
| # 5 WATCH YOURSELF | Is used in an attempt to add some value to the trifecta wager. He is very adept at coming in the later stages of the race. He looks to be at odds approaching 10/1 at post time. |
Race #2 |
|
| # 2 HALO IN ORBIT | Gains major post relief and makes a small raise in class. He was coming on strong in last weeks race which was a stale race date. He should be stronger with his having that race under his belt. |
| # 4 ARNEXCELL | Is a front running sort that gains favorable post position. Dan Charlino will have this one on the engine and try to hold on in the lane. |
| # 7 RED MENACE | Was my top pick last out which did not fire. I expect more out of this one but am questioning my own reasoning for same. |
Race #3 |
|
| # 3 SAND MY CODY | Drops in class and gets a perfect post to use his stalking tactics. This one has hit the board six times out of ten which is evenly distributed with two per placing. I would love to lock in those morning line odds of 5/1 but would settle for anything around 5/2. |
| # 6 PASSING VICE | Is one fast closing type that is dependent upon fast early fractions. This one can take air in going the overland route. |
| # 1 SELECT JEWEL | Gains the rail post and has enough early speed to be placed in contact with the leaders. A ground saving trip should place this one on the ticket. |
| # 5 FRANKIE NINE TOES | Is another one on the drop down but possesses both ability of leaving for positioning or closing from the rear of the pack. He seems a bit off form presently or would be a higher selection. |
Race #4 |
|
| # 4 DIGITAL WATCH | Gets the long shot of the day award. Recent nominees have not fared well. This one raced near the front end and seemed to be trying hard. He meets a field where he is matched up evenly in early speed and should be poised for a nice effort. |
| # 2 NIAWATCH | Seems to be coming back to his own self. This one ran off about four or five in a row when he shipped in from Freehold last fall. He is best when on the lead where his speed is controlling in nature. |
| # 1 KARENSNOBLE TIGER | Has the rail, driver Brian Sears and exits last with a race where he just tired at the wire. Looks to be in close contact with the leader in this race. |
Race #5 |
|
| # 2 GRAND TRE CAR | Exits his qualifier in great shape. He is one fast pacer that is making his first start of his four year old campaign. Looks to run away and hide with this group. |
| # 8 BUCKEYE HANOVER | Is a fast one in his own right. I remember this one winning his first start as a three year old over this oval in about 1:53 and a piece. He is going to be hurt by his outside post but will put on a show for the public. |
| # 3 DEANS DIAMOND | Seems to be always around at the wire and may do so again.Has some closing speed and has faced speedy types like this race offers before. He will be the one to benefit greatly if the top two picks try to run each other into the ground. |
Race #6 |
|
| # 1 LIMESTONE | Put in another superior effort that should set the stage as he moves up in class. His closing speed may be added by a contested early battle for the lead. |
| # 3 RONEY RETURNS | Drops down from the Invitational where he was scratched sick. I rarely use these types but he did win his last four at Northfield before shipping here. |
| # 6 SAMS A GIMME | Is one talented race horse but was claimed two back and moves into a claiming level where his early speed can be matched. I look for a conservative drive and pick up whatever pieces remain in the lane. |
Race #7 |
|
| # 3 NORTHWEST | Drops in class and should be used on the engine. This one splits his racing and stud duties this year. I think the fee is $1,500 but do not know if they guarantee a live foal. |
| # 2 PRESCOTT HANOVER | Is a closing sort that won last out over a suspect field. It is a better class he faces tonight, but I feel he will show some improvement over last weeks race. |
| # 1 IVANS DRAGON | Has the rail and gets hot driver in Doug Snyder. Looks to be closing from the parking lot at decent odds. |
Race #8 |
|
| # 1 STARS PHOTO | Has been right there in each of the legs he competed. It has taken the photo camera to decide his future. I feel he is best suited to benefit from a hot early pace. He may at odds of near 3/1 at post time. |
| # 6 TANGO TIME | Has won all the legs he entered but the margin of victory has given hope to the top pick. It is hard enough to win every race but he will get a stiff challenge from this competitive field. I feel this is the best final of all the late closing series final we have this week. |
| # 4 PARADISE SPOTLITE | Has some talent but needed a few starts for it to show. He is the dark horse of this field but has a chance as much as any to claim the top prize. I am boxing the 1-6-4 in exacta and trifecta pools. |
Race #9 |
|
| # 3 STRANGE ENCOUNTER | Gains excellent post if used in an aggressive manner. This one can race on the engine though current connections choose to race from behind. |
| # 8 BLUES AWAY | Made a nice move coming first over but made a break ruining his chances. I look for another move but later in the mile which should make him a lock at hitting the board. |
| # 4 JIMMY BOIS JOLY | Has been very, very quiet of late. He has the ability to take air going first over and seems ready to show his best with a trip following the second pick tonight. |
Race #10 |
|
| # 5 WISHU WELL |
Gets the nod in a very competitive race. He has early speed to race on the engine or can take it first over. He moves up slightly in class but can be very live as he set his lifetime mark last week in that win in 1:58:3. |
| # 1 CALL THE LADY | Closed nicely against the top pick in last weeks race. He should race a little better as he was racing with a stale date. He appears to be over his problem of breaking stride. |
| # 2 GOTCHA | Is one talented trotter that has won here in PA, Scioto in Ohio and campaigned at Yonkers in the past. He is able to leave the gate with power or be rated and used in the closing style. |
Race #11 |
|
| # 5 HAYLATROSS | Has put in two huge efforts in winning the last in his lifetime mark of 1:55:2. It appears driver Doug Snyder will have a great Saturday night. |
| # 1 ALBERTROSS | Gins the rail again but driver Todd Cummings will wait till the latter stages of the race to make his move. He got burned in a first over move last week while racing in the three hole. He should respond positively with a cover trip. |
| # 8 DISCOVERING GOLD | Might have the outside post to overcome but his closing speed should set up well in his attempt in hitting the board. He is a fast one though I do not recall ever seeing him on the engine. |
Race #12 |
|
| # 2 HURRICANE SAM | Seems to perform best in every other start. He won two back, was locked with a ton of pace four back and scored the win six races ago. If I am correct, Doug Snyder will win another one but this one will be at odds of near 4/1. |
| # 8 BEARCAT HANOVER | Has a ton of early speed and should be on the early lead again tonight. He seems to be about a length short of the wire each week. |
| # 3 MAJESTIC SPUR | Is
hot at that the present but is facing his sternest test
to date. He has won at this level in his past but may be
hard pressed to out maneuver this bunch. |
Race #13 |
|
| # 6 BRYAN LANE | Is a hunch play at best but he has not shown any form since he went first over three weeks ago. I feel the time and odds are right for this one to light up the tote board. He has won at this level but will need to be driven very aggressively on the engine to get the job done. |
| # 3 EICARLS SIDEWINDER | Seems to be the speed of this field but has been in this position before and failed to score. He will be at low odds and might disappoint again. |
| # 2 WHISKEY SOUR | Loves to race near the front end and he hails from a small but well trained barn in Lou Goans. He does not have many in his stable but he keeps them sound and receiving checks for the owners. |
| # 9 FIERY SAHBRA | Has bad post but seemed to be racing a little better since adding lasix. He can add some value to the exotics. |
