Analysis for Northfield Park

Race #1

#2 BIRDSALL MARK Circled the field last week when a couple of trotters on the front end went off stride. The small field really helps this late rusher who can turn it on late. He should be in the right spot at 3/4's and if he minds his manners he can win again, though the price won't be as good.
#1 RINS S'MORE Seems to always be close but never gets the win. He has good gate speed and should be in search of the lead or 2-hole tonight. His current form is excellent and he is a gimmick must in here.
#3 LUKE CLARK COLBY Is just starting to get good for Mr. Oliverio who claimed this one back in February. He stepped up to face the Open group on Monday night and saved ground for a very good 3rd. Case is back aboard and he'll have this one gunning early. He looks to be the best of the rest.

Race #2

#3 V ANNA SEVEN THREE Chased a much better group last week and raced evenly despite the overland journey the last 1/2. She has two starts under her belt this year and will be much better tonight. Last year she was 17 of 28 in the money and took a decent mark here at Northfield. This is a pretty soft first leg of this series and she could be good value with young Wyatt aboard. Slight edge.
#6 BROOKSIDE SPITFIRE Needed her last start, her first of 2001. She was lightly raced as a freshman and looks to have some ability. Last week she stayed inside and never really had room in an even training effort. Loy isn't much on making trips so she will need some luck, but in here she could be good gimmick value.
#1 NOBLE SIS Is void of early foot so she may be forced first over tonight or else hope for the best. Last week she was following perfect cover when the driver decided to tip her out 3-wide. She was hung out 3-wide the entire last 3/8's of a mile and that cost her a lot of ground. She continued to try in the lane despite the journey and from the rail figures a bit in here.

Race #3

#6 MELODYS DIAMOND Looks very good in here. As a freshman she earned over 30K and was very competitive against some decent stake horses. She qualified very impressively and was only beaten a head by a VERY good horse. She looks to have some early foot and with any sort of position early she should start off the year with a win.
#3 LIFE ESTATE Is a Life Sign filly that gets the services of Mr. Case tonight. She has been racing on the much softer Buffalo circuit, but has been doing well. She seems to be handy on a half-miler and should get along well with the King of the Half (Mr. Case).
#2 PRECOCIOUS SOCIETY Has a lot of early speed and tends to get bully in on the front. She's been facing older race horses and has had modest success. From the inside expect her up close and with the experience she may be able to share.

Race #4

#6 MELISSA MONROE Gets the nod solely on the fact that Case is up tonight. He has done very well with Tom Hall's horses over the past few weeks and this one looks to be about the same fit as the others. She doesn't have any early speed but has actually closed well at times. She will need to be brought up but with any position at 3/4's she should be pacing the best of these in the lane.
#2 SWEET SUGAR BABY Takes a slight drop in class tonight and gets B. Miller to boot. Add to that an inside post and it looks like we have a favorite. She really doesn't like to win races though and may be over bet on the win end. However, from the inside she is still a gimmick must.
#1 TSM TIGRESSIVE Was too far back last time out to challenge. That was only her 3rd start on Lasix. She doesn't have much early speed, but from the rail shouldn't be too far back. She has a win this year and that may be an edge over others.
#3 BROOKLYN BLOOMER Is a good superfecta throw-in.

Race #5

#6 SAND MY STRIKE Was doing very well in a tougher $5000 claiming series in recent weeks. She has 4 consecutive 3rd place finishes to a very nice race mare. Case gets the duty tonight and that can only help this one. She can really turn it on late and should have good cover to 3/4's. Appears to be the value in here.
#3 CAR LYN JO Was used twice to get the lead nearing the half last week and was still able to draw clear in a driven but easy victory. She is a streaky mare that looks to be getting good again. There is other speed in here and she has to avoid being used too hard early, but if she can do that she will be right there at the end.
#4 TUCSON BRIDGET Was the best of the rest last week, closing in the lane for a decent 2nd. She didn't look her best last week and will need to improve to threaten here. However, her record alone makes her best of the rest in here.

Race #6

#5 LIVE WIRE HANOVER Tried to brush the lead by the 1/4 last week only to be turned back. From there she had to park the mile to swift fractions and when they tipped off her cover 3-wide she continued to fight and eventually drew clear for a very nice win. Case is back aboard and he will probably look for a cover trip this time. She steps up so it won't be as easy, but she is still the one to beat in here.
#2 RANDILYNNE DAYLYN Drops back down to a much softer spot. Last week she was simply too far back to do much of anything. Before that she flashed decent pace late in tight quarters. With any sort of trip she can make the finish interesting.
#1 SOUTHERN COUSIN Tried to brush a tough foe by the 1/2 last time out and couldn't clear. She battled outside the rest of the way and still paced a fast mile for these. From the rail the trip should be much better and as such she figures to be a part of the trifecta.

Race #7

#5 NOBLE KARISSA Debuted for her new connections last week and was flying int he lane with a lot of pace left only to have no room and have to dive inside. B. Miller gets the call tonight and that will make her even better. She's been in the best form of her life in recent weeks and could be very good value in here.
#1 SINFUL BEAUTY Came out VERY early and from FAR back last time out under a drive to very fast fractions. She caught the front pack by the 1/2 and was done going to 3/4's. That trip was really brutal and fromt he rail she should be able to go much less early saving more for the final 1/4. This trainer's horses have been very good in recent weeks and it would be no surprise to see this one win.
#2 GOLDEN PRINCESS Missed last week and that is a concern as she looked very bad the few starts before. Maybe she'll come back better. Case seems to know her well and from the 2-hole figures to be part of it, but will most likely get way over bet on the win end.

Race #8

#8 CG FIRE Proved once again that when the Hawk is away the winner's will play. This classy mare blew them away last week at this level despite being used hard in the first 1/4. Ward (and everyone else) have done VERY good in place of Hawk on Belcher's horses and Ward is back tonight. She only knows one thing and that is speed so she will need some luck in getting the top. However, if she gets it she will be very stubborn and figures to win again.
#1 NOBLE LYNETTE Chased the top pick last week and was runner-up. She has good speed and will be looking to let only the top pick go. If she gets the trip she wants and the top pick is used too hard getting the front she could upset. But even if she doesn't win she has enough form and class to be a gimmick must from the rail.
#7 DAYLON CAMEO Is another classy mare that is just returning to the races this year. Last week she stayed in the back and inside and did close very well up the passing lane. She can circle better fields when right and with a potentially fast pace in here she merits a look.

Race #9

#6 JENDEH I must stick with this one. She is a gritty race mare that can take a lot of abuse and still keeps trying. She is the best on the ground and until they she starts to slip in form I'm going to put her on top. She'll be gunning for the lead and if she makes it to the 1/2 in 57 or slower they won't catch her.
#5 BEACH BINGE Loves to fly late and would like to see the top pick parked a long time. Last week she was last and did not make a move until it was too late, but did have good pace left. If they battle she should be able to circle the field like she did 2 back.
#3 EMPRESS OSBORNE Is clearly not in form right now. She looks sore and tired on the track and has found the top 2 picks too much. B. Miller will probably race her conservatively and look for the best of the rest honors.

Race #10

#1 MANNART PEACEMAKER Finally gets a break in post. She has very good gate speed when she elects to use it and from the rail look for Schillaci to cut this mile or at worst sit in the pocket. Last week she made a brief bid from last 3-wide only to realize it wasn't worth it. The Schillaci stable has been great all meet and this one gets the slight edge from the rail.
#2 IMAGINE ANYWHERE As usual, this Virgil trainee claimed from Schillaci was dull in her first start. She was getting a trip and looked in position at the top of the stretch, but then under a hard drive was empty. Chances are she will be better in the 2nd start for this barn, but as the favorite she will likely be over bet. Still good enough to share in here.
#4 TRICKY TRIPPY Has been racing very well all year but missed last week. She may have needed the week off and based on her current form as a strong horse in the lane she is a gimmick must at a price.

Race #11

#1 SEASIN Took the 2-hole trip last time out and simply could not get by the tough leader. She may elect to cut the mile this week and with a pressure free lead she will be tough to catch.
#3 IZZY INC Was able to control things last week and went a middle half of 59.4. She is in great shape right now and can win on the lead or from off pace. The first over trip may be the way she has to go and that makes her job harder, but her form gives her a big shot.
#5 PATTY LACE Hasn't raced in over 4 months but was keeping very good company when she last raced. She won her qualifier very easily on the front end and may be ready for a big effort. Hawk sends them out ready and will bet if he thinks he has a shot. Tab the tote.

Race #12

#5 ROMANTIC MELODY Was a super easy winner last week from the rail and against lesser. The week before she was brutally parked way wide the entire mile and still paced faster than all but a few of these have ever gone. She looks very tough in here.
#6 I'MYOURHUCKLE
BERRY
The last time Mr. Case drove she went down the road in a lifetime best. Last week she was running them over with Hall up and had no where to go. She will be tough if she makes the front easily so watch out.
#3 CENTSAVER Has missed 2 weeks and that is a big concern. She has a lot of class and can fly late. Tonight she gets Pantaleano and that is a big plus. If she's ready she will be right there in the end.

Race #13

#3 MISS ALISHA Hasn't raced in nearly 5 months and only had 3 starts in a brief stint before that. That can only mean one thing...she has a lot of problems. However, she drops tonight and has a lot of back class over these. Her qualifier signals readiness and she will be going for all she can while she's race ready. Shot at a price.
#1 KOCKTAIL KITTY Was re-claimed by Mr. John Lee. He had decent success with this one at the bottom level and from the rail should have the position needed to challenge. A gimmick must.
#2 HAWAIIAN KULA Last time out the trainer drove and was still able to get this one home 3rd. Before that she was first over to a monster and held a game 2nd. The trip should be favorable from the inside and as such is a trifecta consideration.

Race #14

#3 CINDI HANOVER Was privately purchased this past week by J. Lee. She responded very well when dropped to this level last week and actually faces an easier field. B. Miller can only help this one and she may send you home a winner.
#9 WAKESHIRE WILLOW Looks like she is much the class in here, however, if you examine her last few racing seasons you will find out that she rarely does well any higher than this bottom level. From the 2nd tier she should have the striking position to challenge and is a gimmick must.
#1 SAND SAMMIE Drops tonight and draws in. She has good gate speed and will use it tonight. She is only good for a few starts a year and has looked dull in the last few efforts. However, these are much softer and she still merits a look.
#2 HAWAIIAN CHARM Went a big 1st over mile last time out and never gave up. In fact she was actually closing in the final strides. She will be close to the pace and could be the best of the rest for the superfecta.
