Race #1 |
|
| # 1 HAYLATROSS | Caught an off track last out and seemed to have trouble finding traction when making his first over move. She did win three straight before that race and should make amends. |
| # 7 HARE ROLLERS | Is the front end speed entered here that seems to carry way into the lane. A logical key in the under part of the exotics. |
| # 3 BELLE TRADITION | Has caught my eye in the last two weeks. She has raced well in the win two back and coming in third in last weeks contest. She seems to be head strong and loves to be in close contact with the field. |
Race #2 |
|
| # 7 TRIPLE T SATURN | Seems to dominate this class though has not been at top of his game in recent weeks. He can only circle the field or if Charlie Norris decides, can leave and wire these. |
| # 4 HAPPY EVERGREEN | Is not as fast but has been very effective against these. He did win two races two and three weeks back. He needs to be placed near the front end and find clearance to show his best footing. |
| # 2 BLEST AND CROWNED | Makes first start of the year after a nice qualifier on a sloppy track. It would not be a surprise to see this one win at first asking. |
Race #3 |
|
| # 8 FOX VALLEY HOLLY | Hails from the Goldberg stable and seems to be in a field where she should dominate. She is at her best when playing a stalkers role. Look for driver Tyler Stillings to leave alertly and find a hole near the front end. He should be second over near the 5/8 pole. |
| # 2 LITTLE MS RHUBARB | Has been racing into form and meets a field where she fits nicely. She lost to a very fast Hatch Hanover last out but none in here can come close to that beast. |
| # 3 ROMANTIC SUNSET | Gets second start lasix and gains post and class relief. All signals are positive on this one as he should add value to the exotics. |
| # 7 MEGAN MONROE | Has been a disappointment in her last two races as she appeared to have more pace than showed in the lane. Maybe she is not as fast as I once believed. |
Race #4 |
|
| # 4 CC GONE FISHIN | Ships in from Hoosier Park and brings with him a ton of speed. Trainer Jim Arledge Jr. has sent some live ones here this year. His training average is listed at .473. |
| # 5 FOXY JAZZ | Last weeks track played to closing speed and in an attempt to play with the track bias, driver, Mike Wilder took this one of the early trot and tried to circle the field. He almost pulled it off as he was closing fast but failed being short by a neck. Looks to be on the engine if the track is dry. |
| # 6 ANNE BONNY | Has won two straight in this classification. If she wins this, she will be banished for one week on this track. I feel that it is time that if management wants to advertise that they are another big league sport in town they should repeal this rule. When in the history of sports has a team been penalized for winning fair and square? It hasnt and can you see the uproar in Chicago or LA when their respective teams would of been prevented from attempting the three-peat in their championship years. I expect this one to be short so as to avoid of being off a week or having to pay transportation costs to race elsewhere. |
Race #5 |
|
| # 4 FOLLOW THE MONEY | Returns to a level where her speed is most effective. She came roaring in the lane two starts back and set a lifetime mark in 1:54:4. She was no match for the top classification of distaff on these grounds but does have the necessary weapons in her arsenal to win this. |
| # 2 AL DUSTY | Has been sharp of late and was scratched out last week. I assume that the off going had something to do with it. Hopefully the week off will not hurt. |
| # 5 NOBLE WALTZER | Was my top pick last out but was scratched out. I feel the off going had something to do with this one also. She has speed and can take air going the overland route. |
Race #6 |
|
| # 6 WHITESVILLE CROWN | Drops down a few notches and seems to have enough speed to wire this field with ease. As the case with fast trotters, the sometimes try to go faster than they have ability thus causing them to make speed breaks. This one needs to have his speed throttled in to remain on stride. None entered can challenge effectively for the lead. His speed will be controlling in nature. |
| # 2 HIDDEN LEGACY | Gets post relief and exits last with a nice power move that resulted in nasty break. Mike Wilder will not be as aggressive as Palone this go round. Trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. has this one ready and waiting. |
| # 5 PREAMBLE HANOVER | Was my third pick last out and is so again. She has some late trot and seems to do the best at the end of her miles. I wonder how she will react with a drop in class and placed on the engine. |
Race #7 |
|
| # 6 DIAMONIQUE MINDALE | Trainer Patsy Vulcano drops this one in class. This one won both her starts on the drop down to this level. Most recent win took a superior effort by both mare and driver. Looks to be around 4/1 at post time in spite of Roger making her the morning line favorite at 2/1. He is correct in making the line but the public does not have a good memory. |
| # 1 SHES MY NIECE | Tried to wire from the nine hole on a track favoring closing speed. She raced well against bias last week and grudgingly gave up the lead in the stretch. Looks to improve having that race under her belt. |
| # 2 CAMS SWEETEST | Gains post relief and is attempting to win her first of the year in 12 starts/ She is fast enough to give a run for the money with all entered. |
Race #8 |
|
| # 7 RPS | Has won in this class though new connections have not found the ley to this one. He was claimed by the Goldberg operation. Look for him to have an open bridle and little else as Mark likes to start from the bottom up with new arrivals. |
| # 6 CDS THELMA ROSE | Has won two back and closed willingly last out in present company. Looks to be a safe hedge bet in case the top pick fails to threaten. |
| # 8 RED MENACE | Was claimed back into t stable where they can not duplicate the effort from the Rooney stable. Look for him to be claimed back tonight as he has changed hands the last three weeks. This rent a horse can trot and is at his best when forwardly placed. He can race well both on the wet and dry surfaces. |
Race #9 |
|
| # 3 DANIELLE LEE | Tried to wire from outside post on a closing biased track. Looks to be the one to beat if driven with bias tonight. Would love her to race on the engine if the track is dry but close if it turns up wet. |
| # 1 LEFT LANE LIZZY |
Won as my top pick last week but did so just by a neck. She is still improving and is making only her 5th start this season. She is the heir apparent to the top pick missing the win. |
| # 8 BOCUSE FLASH | Raced extremely well in last weeks contest. Some of the back class from California appeared in the lane as she zoomed past the leaders to win at 12/1. She needs to be closer to the front end horses this time as the track will not be favoring closing speed. |
Race #10 |
|
| # 7 FORDIMEN SIONAL |
Has not caught a dry surface since starting on lasix three races back. He simply detests the wet going. You will see a different horse if the track remains dry. |
| # 3 HOPE SWEET HOPE | Has one nice last quarter in her though she fails many more times than not to gain the win. She has trouble in the turns where she makes most of her breaks. Once in a while she puts it all together and puts in a powerful run. |
| # 8 KWYJIBO | Seems to respond well to the lasix (2nd time) last week where he almost got up for the win. These types tend to hold their new form for about a month then they head south. Looks to improve though is handicapped by post position. |
Race #11 |
|
| # 3 COSMIC EXPRESS | Is a three year old facing older but did put in a powerful second over move last week and raced her heart out. She should be better this week with having that race under her belt. She possibly can pace in 1:56 this week if given a perfect trip. |
| # 1 MISS ADIRONDACK | Ships in from the Big M where she had trouble as she was not as fast as she needed to be. She meets lesser here and given her inside post may find it easier to hit the board. |
| # 8 LAUGHING LADY | Has been in fine form the last couple of weeks and looks like the one to be closing late in the lane. This one broke two back and then came home effectively to garner the place position. |
Race #12 |
|
| # 5 AFRICA N | Is a front running sort who made her first start of the year as she was placed in a two hole. She seemed to have more but driver Brian Sears seemed to have trouble rating her. She is at her best when given her head. She has the speed enough to wire these if new driver Palone is permitted to do so. |
| # 1 MY HEARTS DESIRE | Gains the rail for the second week and moves up slightly in class. Her closing style fits nicely with these and is the one I will use a key to the under part of the exotics. |
| # 6 IRISH ASHLEY | Won last out in a hard fought race. She needs to be near the front end to have a chance at hitting the board. Best case scenario would place her in the pocket behind the top pick. |
Race #13 |
|
| # 1 TUFF SANDY | Gains post relief and has been very quiet of late. It is very well within this ones ability to out sprint any of these in the lane. She gets the Long Shot of the Day call. I expect her odds to be near 6/1 though I would love to lock in that 12/1 morning line. |
| # 9 QUIZZICAL | Has run off two straight and seems to be improving in the process. Tonight she has to overcome the post nine which can be a killer. I will continue to use this one till she reaches a level where her early speed is not so dominating. |
| # 8 BROWN EYEDEMILY |
Is one speed burner in her own right but she was scratched sick 3-30 and races with a stale date. She may need a week or two to get back to top speed. |
| # 3 LISTEN FOR CAM | Seems to be in the right place and the right time to make a score but comes up on the short end of the stick. It may be the mare is not as fast as I once thought. Her being placed in the correct situations leads to her making the board consistently. I would not throw this on off the exotics. |
