Analysis for Northfield Park

Race #1

#2 TAMMY Q Was locked in last the entire mile last week and never fired a shot. The week before she got out just after the 1/2 and circled the field like they were standing still. She is a hard-knocking mare that knows how to get the job done. I expect Schillaci to be a bit more aggressive tonight and she should make an early move in here. Edge in the opener.
#5 LADY SCOOT OSBORNE Had to go 3 wide around dead cover last week and was hung 3 wide the last 3/8's. She never quit and was actually pacing well at the wire. That was only her 2nd start for Belcher and tonight she gets Case. She should be flying late and with good cover she is very dangerous in here.
#1 BIT O RIBS Was parked the mile last week with Conger, but tonight draws the rail and gets Pantaleano. She likely was a bit short last week off that sick scratch and if she races back to the form that saw her win the 5K claiming series she deserves a lot of respect. A must in any gimmick.

Race #2

#1 BEST PEAS Draws the rail and that may be enough. This field is as soft as they come and she was parked 2 turns last week and had some pace at the wire in a mile timed in 2.00.2. That is good enough for these and Lanny loves to leave off the rail. She should be great value and could crawl home ahead of the rest.
#6 LADY NUCLEAR Gets a big driver change tonight and drops in class (she was facing the better bottom level fillies and mares). She can race up close or come from off pace. There is a void of early speed in here so Brett may have this one pointed for the top. If she gets a good spot in decent shape she will be right there at the end.
#2 HIGH HOPES MISS She was without room for most of the mile Tuesday night and didn't really go much with the break on her card. She has show she can follow and share in the past and against these from the inside that may be enough to get her minor spoils.

Race #3

#1 OUR SLEEP N BEAUTY Was 3 wide on the 3rd turn last week to clear Jendeh and raced nose and nose with a tough leader despite being parked the rest of the way. She is in the best form she's been in and off the rail should be sitting no worse than 2nd. With any racing luck she wins tonight's feature.
#3 GRAMMA GORDIE Was able to make the top off the rail last week and took pressure the entire mile. She never gave an inch and held on for a very game victory. Trip will tell the story tonight and if Tharps can get her to the front ahead of Jendeh or maybe even the 2-hole behind the top pick, she figures strongly in here.
#5 JENDEH Was parked the mile last week and may suffer similar tonight. She knows one thing...speed! She is very fast and if she can make the front she may not be headed.

Race #4

#3 M'S BRASS RING Missed last week and that is a major concern. This one has been facing much better all year long and in her last start she came flying late to just miss at this level. She is void of early foot and will have to come from off pace. If she can catch some cover and the pace is honest she can fly by these in the lane.
#2 NOBLE LILLY Was driven hard at the 1/2 and couldn't keep up against better. That was only her 2nd start of the year, and she should be getting better. This one competed against and actually beat the top mares last year, so once she finds her best stride she will destroy a field like this. Tab the tote.
#1 HELLA Came out of a hole only to run up on the wheel of the horse in front of her. That cost her several lengths and a lot of momemtum. She was able to get back going and came on nicely under a drive for 2nd. She steps up a bit tonight and but that shouldn't matter too much from the rail. If Tharps can avoid the first over trip and have room in the final 1/8th she will be right there.
#8 C G PAT Takes a healthy hike in class tonight and draws outside. Still, she is going great right now and Case opted for her over several in here. If she can work out a decent trip she is a good superfecta consideration.

Race #5

#8 BLACKWELL Takes a nice drop in class tonight and gets a HUGE driver change. This one was racing very well before her last 2 starts, but had excuses in both. The post will enhance the price and with early position this one figures very highly in here.
#6 CURLY JANE Always does well at the bottom level. She rarely gets bet and is an honest mare that tries hard. She has decent early speed if she so chooses to leave, and can also race uncovered. The value in the gimmicks.
#2 AUBRA'S MAGIC CHIP Has a lot of gate speed and Wyers loves to control things. Last week she chased a tough winner and was a decent 3rd under a drive. She will never be out of it and is a must in any gimmick play.

Race #6

#8 DR BOWER Went a huge mile last week coming from dead last (gapping too) moving 3 and 4 wide the last turn to close up strongly, missing by less than 2 lengths. Once again he has an outside post, but there is a lot of early speed in here, so maybe the pace will be fast enough. The price will be right and with some luck he passes them all.
#7 MRS JANE Did not pull when she could have last week and that cost her. She never had room and finished full of trot up the inside. Conger tends to sit with this one and that is a big concern, but if the pace is as fast as it could be, she can fly late and may add good value to the gimmick.
#2 HE'S NIFTY Was one of the best trotters at Northfield all of last year. He doesn't have the same form this year, but maybe Virgil has him right now. If so, he wins for fun!

Race #7

#5 NOBLE TARGET Has been tripping out with some success the past 2 weeks and may be set to go down the road. Ward has been doing outstanding in recent weeks and aggressiveness is his game. If he makes the lead or 2 hole he will be right there and rates as the best value in here.
#1 MISS T REO Comes in from The Meadows where she has done much better since changing barns and drivers. She has not been able to finish 1st or 2nd in the last 2 years, but from the rail against these she may break that long speel and finish in the top 2.
#8 COPPER AND TIN Was Case's choice of several in here. This one is loaded with speed and comes from the VERY hot Belcher barn. The qualifier was decent and she should be able to get a good seat in decent shape. She was a terror at this bottom level last year and may be set to go on a winning spree.

Race #8

#3 DASHER'S GIRL Looked great in her 3-year old debut. She made a STRONG bid 3 wide at 3/4's and hung a bit in the next 1/8th, but did have good pace at the wire and looked like she was getting serious again. She should be much tighter tonight and if she improves off that mile at all she can beat these.
#5 SUGAR VALLEY ANGEL Figures to benefit from a fast pace in here. Last week she did not fire with Robin and the 8 hole, but the weeks before she showed good late pace with Grismore, who is up and knows her best. A must in any gimmick play.
#4 SOUTHERN COUSIN Gets Ward tonight and he sesms to do very well with Belcher's horses. She tired 1st up last time out, but may have the top pick's cover tonight. With it, she can share.

Race #9

#4 MS ROME CC Looked VERY strong on in the lane last week under a firm grip. She had no room and was ready to run them over. That was her first start of the year and she should "go" tonight. She made over 100K as a 2-year old and now is in what I consider a better barn. The price will be good and if they turn this brut lose, she can win in here.
#1 PEDIATRICIAN Makes her sophomore debut after a steller 2-year old season that saw this one bank almost 100K and never finish worse than 2nd. She draws the rail tonight and should be able to control things. She is obviously pointed for a lot more than this, and they won't kill her for this purse. However, she is still a must in here.
#2 SAMTANGO Parlayed a 2-hole trip into a nice win last week and should have similar position tonight. If the above picks falter she may be in the right place at the right time.

Race #10

#1 BAREFOOT OSBORNE Last week this one left for position and made it as far as 5th on the outside only to find no holes and then had to be taken up to the rear. No try or room from there, with pace under a pull. Similar trip the week before. She is a brave mare that loves the front and should have it tonight. She drops down to face easier tonight and rates as the one to beat.
#3 LALA LAND Has been simply great in recent weeks with Tharps. He really knows this one and should have her gunning for a 2-hole tonight. If he gets the trip behind the top pick he will complete the exacta.
#2 MISS TY Has been facing Buffalo's finest mares and gets Case tonight. With the inside post behind a strong leader she can follow for a piece.

Race #11

#2 SEASIN Moves inside and should be able to flash her good early speed. Last week she had to move 3-wide around dead cover at 3/4's and that cost her a lot of ground to the top two. She was able to battle gamely despite being parked from there. With the lead or the 2 hole she will be very tough in here.
#5 CG FIRE Left and was unable to make the front last week. She is a speedball that only likes it up close and Ward will have her gunning there tonight. If Grismore doesn't leave directly inside of her, she should make the lead by the 1/4 and from there should finish on the board.
#4 SWEET POTATO CHIPS Tried the front end last week and almost lasted despite being pushed the entire way. She can also race from off pace and with speed inside of her, I figure that is what she will do. Her best keeps her close

Race #12

#2 LIFE ESTATE Has won all 3 of her legs in this series and draws in tonight. Last week she was under a drive to the wire, but no one was gaining on her. She looks awfully tough in here. Short price, but solid.
#5 TERINA'S BEST Raced much better last time without the trainer up. She has good tactical speed and may be able to get the 2-hole tonight. She is a well bred filly with a lot of speed, and if the top pick falters, this is the one that picks up the pieces at a good price.
#8 PLEASES FIRE Chased the top pick from the pocket last week and was coming to her a bit at the wire. She won't have it as easy tonight, moving to the extreme outside, but she may be the best of the rest in here.

Race #13

#3 GAME NICOLE Anyone that saw this one pace her last 3/8's Tuesday night knows if she is physically ready on 3 days rest she wins for fun in here. Last Friday she was locked in and angled out with less than a 16th to go and FLEW up to just miss in an unbelievable effort. Then we got a gift this Tuesday when this one paid nearly $10. Belcher took this one from McKirgan and now has her right and she wins again.
#5 JENNA'S GREAT LADY May leave tonight and try for an up-close trip. She was much better last time out when she didn't get the brutal parking like she did 2 back. She has the blue-est of blood and is coming along nicely. Case is back and should have this one close at the end.
#1 TOWNERS BRANDI Has speed and the rail and should stay close. Last week she followed along and didn't gain ground, but didn't lose it either. A similar trip puts this one underneat at a decent price.

Race #14

#1 I'MYOURHUCKLE
BERRY
The last time Case drove this one and was able to make the lead she paced to a lifetime best nearly 10 lengths ahead. That was against one step below this, but it was so easy she can handle this class to. There isn't much speed in here and Case should be able to cut fractions that build a big enough lead. She sends us home a winner.
#2 FRUGIE'S FALCON Tried to cut it last week and eventually went down to a mare that steps WAY up tonight. From the inside she should be able to stay close to the pace and if Mr. Franklin can relax a bit in the bike and take a trip, she will be right there at the end.
#7 JAZZY SAKRA Has been going very well since coming back to the races several weeks ago. She has flashed speed and may do that tonight to get a good early seat. With racing luck she makes the superfecta pay a bit more.
#8 RANDILYNNE DAYLYN Has done very well for Crissman in his 2 starts and tonight gets a new driver. That may wake her up even more and put her underneath.
