ABOUT THE
HANDICAP SANCTUARY
My purpose in creating "HANDICAP
SANCTUARY" is to make sure
every handicapped individual can have a chance to enjoy
life to it's fullest.
I have been confined to a wheelchair for the last 28
years, but I am a blessed person.
I have always had friends that didn't mind taking me
wherever they went. It didn't matter if it was a vacation
out of state or if it was tubing down a river, they never
made me feel as if it was any trouble and sometimes I
know it was. So I would like to be able to pass on the
good fortune that I have had in my life by having "HANDICAP
SANCTUARY". It is an
organization for the handicapped so they will be able to
work and feel like they have accomplished something out
of life; play so they can experience some of what life
has to offer without the barriers, or at least have
someone to help them out when they reach a barrier. Let
them feel what it is like floating down a river with no
cares, or going camping and not have to worry if the
bathrooms are accessible or not. What about going fishing
and trying to catch the big one, or the feeling of peace
and quiet that scuba diving has to offer? These are just
a few things that 'normal' people take for granted, not
thinking of how difficult the simple things can be to
overcome. Take a minute to think about it, maybe you'll
have a different outlook on your own life!!
"HANDICAP SANCTUARY"
is offering a quality life that I believe far too few
ever get to experience. An opportunity for the
handicapped to get their pride and self worth back and
let them have a life worth living.
