St. Xavier's, Bokaro Group Photographs... My Wonder Years!!
SXS: 1984-1994 (Std. 2D- 12)

Hello & thanks for visiting Amieya's page of school group photgraphs. I did my KG and stuff in Happy Hours!! Among the first friends was Ankita. It was a rikshaw ride to the Happy hours school every morning and I specially remember that long bearded "saadhu" seeing whom we used to sing- "Coca Cola Fanta, Saadhu baba ....."

To start with, I recall the wonderful experience in Basrah,Iraq where I did my Std.1 from the Indian Central School. (Here's a lovely childhood picture at Basrah, Iraq; see if you can tell which one's me!)
Then came DAV Std. 2 for a while (was there for 5-6 months I think), before I hopped over to St. Xavier's in Std. 2D. Among my first friends in SXS were Saket, Nalin, Rajneesh, Rajneel, Ashish Pawar...(who else did I use to hang around with? I don't remember!). Meanwhile do help me fill in/rectify the names left out in the Std. 2D picture, esp the name of the Class teacher! I've been told it's Mrs. Lucas. (Or is it Mrs. En Titus?)

Std. 3B shows Mrs. Jacob as the classteacher and new friends... trace them yourselves... the ones also in this egroup starting from the top row are:
Shalu, Anika, Nalin, .... is that it??!! And of course, myself.

Std. 4D: Classteacher: Shabnam Banu,an extremely charming and helpful teacher... very friendly and lenient! Std. 4 was also when I came in touch with Rakhsit as the closest friend at that time. We used to play "pitto" together and once did land in Mr. Neuns office for shattering one of the window panes. Well that was an era when Rakhsit used to be "not so notorious" as of today!! In fact, he definitely was among the favourites of Mrs. Sood in Std. 5B.

That was also the year in Std. 5B when my friendship with Ujawal started its first roots. And Maths definitely was the common link that put us in the good books of Mrs. Sood. So as well with Saikat. Well, I value my term with Mrs. Sood very highly and would well rank her as my favourite class teacher-among the very best that I came across. It was the time when I was kind of transforming from a lazy careless student to a somewhat dedicated one and Mrs. Sood's wonderful words of encouragement were always a big help- "Shaabash bete!! Shaabash"- a definite moral booster and they sound so sweet to me even today as I recall them. (For I was definitely one of those shy ones-I knew the answers on most occasions, but was never sure or was too hesitant to speak up!) At the end of the year I could not break the 90's barrier;came strikingly close though-scored 89.4% or something. (It was the first time in studies I had decided to take on bhaiyya's challenge in terms of the percentage game.) From now on it was, one thing was sure- I was now on the fast lane and there was no looking back!!

Std. 6B: Mrs Archana Aggrawal Another of the popular teachers!
The first thing I knew I landed right in her good books because of some surprise results. It was also the year that I struck gold in Sanskrit- my first complete ton! (Hey, that's the only one as well I believe, the only century by me in any subject!). The year saw the ripening of our friendship together- Ujawal, Abhishek, myself, Gokul, Sanjeev (Xavier wala),Ashish Khare. And there were new friends out there... Alice, Namrata, Sheetal, Harshita among the girls whom I came to know. (Sheetal for sure, kept me in great awe, should I say fear, for she at that time bore the reputation of memorizing every single stuff in History!! Sheetal please acknowledge!!). Namrata did great in studies as well and both these ladies bagged the first two spots in academics!
Std. 7D next with the wonderful class teacher- Mrs. Sen. I don't have the group photo with me so can't recall everyone out there. Among the close ones was Gokul, Sanjiv, Abhishek Srivastava (if anyone remembers him!!)- he used to bug a lot for notes/stuff. Ujawal, Abhishek were next door in 7C. It was also the year when I came close to Harshita, definitely among the most charming and interesting persons I ever came across in St. Xavier's. In terms of academics Namrata was still there bugging me and giving me a tough time!! (I'm not sure but Purva was also perhaps in 7D, was she?)
Std. 8A and a completely diferent world unravels before us. A new found independence/freedom. The start of the much awaited school parties!! 8A saw the strange seating arrangements. Among the ones who sat in my row were Silpa, Shalini, Sujaya, Shalu, Sheetal(?) and PriyaSmita. And definitely Shalu, Shilpa and our very own Animesh formed the deadly combination of chatter boxes. For we,(if I can use 'we', though I'd prefer 'they') ended up in long interesting discussions of "who's who". Shalu do you realise what I mean!!?? Among the friends were Shantanu, Pavinder (we always used to raid his tiffin!), Khare and of course all the rest!! The school parties were the other aspect of the schoollife...it bore great anticapation and excitiement. The "captions" game brought out the well kept secrets('almost'),so it turned into a means to know who's interested in whom!! The tap dances, the pranks... let's see if someone has his heart going wild and chuckling with mischief about this one... The Cindrella dance,(was it Std.9 or 10),when one of the shoes of someone lands outside the Chappel Hall!! I can see the culprit laughing to himself!! So there were some pretty nice memories related with parties for all of you, I'm sure!
Std 9A, 10A, 11 & 12 I'm putting up out here. Would love someone else to try out some commentry. (Well actually it's time for lunch and I'm staaarvingg!)
