This will be the game's second summer, but realistically, it is its first. Last July the game really started, the five scientists began their groups and the Universe formed. Posting was slow because all of us, GM's included, were very, very new with this.
Now the ball is rolling - rolling slowly, but rolling nonetheless. Looking back at things, we must make a realization. During the summer most of the players (high school, college, and middel school students) are off for three months. A lot of us are working; a lot of us are on vacation; most of us are being lazy; and some of us no longer have access to a computer. Because of this posting is slow and/or non-existant. A lot of this is the GM's fault, as they are either working or on vacation - with the exception of Doctor S and J who are just plain lazy ^_^ .
So, no, the game isn't dead. We hope it isn't. Its just... everyone is busy. We fully expect things to pick up in late August, when people are starting to return to their normal routine.
SUMMER 2002
YAHOO! GROUPS VS COOL LIST
Problems in the main group. In another article, it has been posted that the mailing list used by Ground ZERO randomly erases e-mails from its archive, then doesn't allow them - even with a GM's permission - to rejoin. To fix the problem we have switched over to coollist. Cool List works just the same as Yahoo! Egroups with the exception of not having a reliable archive.
Most of the players read the posts from the achive. This is recommended from the GMs, as some posts might not come into certain e-mail accounts, they may come in delayed, or not in the right order. Cool List takes its time in compling the archive making it nothing but a hassle.
Recently a few of the members who were taken off Yahoo Egroups and tried to resign up and were not admitted have recieved letters from the master server asking them to reactivate their accounts. So, maybe the problem with Yahoo has been fixed.
Cool List was an experiment, switched over only for the main group - the group which by now should be used to the GM's screw ups. The GM's are eating dirt now, because we, and other players, would like to go back to Yahoo.
So, we are switching back. Things in Cool List will remain, and in fact, everyone will be added to Cool List as a backup server. From now on Cool List will be used for NRPC notes throughout all the groups. If you feel you are not recieving e-mail for Ground ZERO because your account has been disconnected or for other reasons, you can see if you're still on Cool List - or email a GM.
SUMMER 2002
E-MAILING THE GMS
If you have a question for the GM and you want it answered right away, it is recommended that you send it to Krasnow's account (sundialeve@mailcity.com or hangoverholiday@hotmail.com). The reason for this is that those addresses are just for NRPC questions and character biographies. Unlike the scientists mails, those boxes are swamped with posts that have to be shifted through. All the GMs have access to this account and will be notified if they are given a letter.
*bravo laugh* ha-ha, I will never tell an e-mail server that I was born in the year 2012 again! I should have learned my lesson with excite. Ha-ha!
*sigh*
SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO THE PLAYERS.
Check the website, if your biography is not on-line or you have not been accepted into Ground ZERO, then that means the e-mail you sent has been lost in the chaos. To see if your not on the website type in
http://geocities.DarkZoilo/ (First Letter or your character's first name) / (character's first name, or, if you have a common name, like Alex, your character's whole name, or if yourself by a nickname (Raysa = Razor, Salvador = Dor, by that nickname) .html
Example - Victoria Krasnow would be...
http://oocities.com/DarkZoilo/K/Krasnow.html
K and Krasnow because that's how the character is written.
If that's too complicated, just wait, we'll eventually send you a letter requesting a biography. I apologize for what's happening.
OTHER PLAYERS, if you've recently submitted then you'll need to do so again. Sorry! You'll be added to Master O's new group when it starts. As of now, Doctor U's group is as follows:
