St Mary Magdelene
And The Church of the Risen Christ
The Church St. Mary Magdelene is the oldest surviving building in Coventry. Built in the 11th century shortly after the Norman conquest, it was the Church for the monks at nearby Coombe Abbey and also for  Caludon Castle and the small village of Wyken.  As the local community grew a larger more modern church was built alongside St. Mary's.
