Corey is 9 years old and he is a gift from God. God really knew what he was
doing when he gave me Corey first. Corey has asthma (he has a lot of trouble
with his asthma especially in the fall), neurofibromatosis(this only causes him to have headaches and ADHD). He is on several asthma meds, we tried meds for
his ADHD but it just made him sick so we decided to just do some natural meds
and diet. Which we feel he does well with.
Corey is very smart and does very well in school. He loves to study about
space, read and work on the computer. His favorite sport is kick ball. Corey
does not really like to go to school, he would rather stay at home with his
sister and family.
Corey loves to build models of cars and airplanes. He loves to collect toy
cars and anything to do with space. His favorite astronaut is John Glenn.
Corey has started going to tractor pulls with his uncle and the first time
he pulled he got 4th place in his class.
Corey's hero, he says is his sister, because she has to fight so hard to
live and she continues to smile. He loves his sister so much, you can see it
in his eyes, actions and it is unconditional love.
I think Hannah considers Corey to be her hero, the way she looks at him
You can see it in her eyes pure love, unconditional love.
Corey plays well with Hannah and he is my big helper. He is so good with her
and she loves him so much. Corey has never been jealous of the attention
Hannah gets. He never gets angry with her, he is always very patient with
her. On day he told me "Mommy I think God gave us Hannah to slow us down and
make us look at life differently". He also has written 2 stories about his
sister and spoke at 2 workshops to doctors and other parents about what it is
like to have a sibling that is sick.
I thank God for this wonderful little boy, I truly do not know what I would
do without him. He is a gift from God.
