Other Forces
This unit will cover other forces, specifically gravity and laws concerning celestial motion. The focus will be Newton's law of gravitation; however, we will also discuss Kepler's laws of planetary motion. We will also talk about Einstein and his theory of gravity, known as general relativity.
Also included in this unit are the force due to a spring and the centripetal force. We will introduce Hooke's Law. We will also distinguish between centripetal force and centrifugal force.
Finally, we will also included banked curves in our discussions. You will be able to explain the physics behind the necessity for a banked curve.
