OVEN-BARBECUED BEEF BRISKET

Make ahead, tastes best with standing or even the next day.

1 4 pound beef brisket
1 small onion diced
1 12 oz bottle chili sauce
3 Tbsp. red currant jelly
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Cook onion until tender in 1 Tbsp. oil.  Stir in chili sauce, jelly, ginegar, 1/2 tsp. salt, Worcestershire and 1/4 cup water; heat to boiling, reduce heat to low, simmer, uncovered 10 minutes.
When brisket is done, preheat oven to 450 degrees, remove brisket from liquid, place in 13"x9" baking dish.  Spread half of barbecue sauce over brisket.  Bake 15 minutes until sauce on side with brasket and vegetable.  Carrots can be cooked in cooking liquid after brisket is out.  Tastes good, looks good.
