Hello Hanson fans!!! Are you ready for Hanson-A-Day?! Yeah, we are, too! HAD begins tomorrow, so clean out your boxes and get ready for some deliciously hot pictures and interesting quotes from your favorite men. We hope you are going to enjoy Hanson-A-Day 2001! :)
Happy New Year!
~TC & TLS

Hey you guys!
We are thrilled to get to share our love of Taylor, and now Isaac and Zac, with so many of you once again this year. And, we welcome all of you new members to our list! We're simply amazed at the great response we have had so far!
Because we have so many new folks that have signed up, we just thought it would be a good idea to let them know about a few things they might not be aware of, so if you've heard us say any of this before, we hope you're not too bored!
First of all, we do have a little website that you might want to bookmark for future reference. The addy is: http://www.oocities.org/tay_a_day_2000/ . At this website, you can find all the archives to past TADs. We love to look back at them sometimes, and we know some of you do as well. And, if you got started a little late, you can go see what you missed. :) At the end of every month, a new archive page will be added for that month.
Another thing that you can do there at the site is change your e-mail address if the need ever arises. There is a link to the listbot sites where you can do this. TLS and TC can't change it for you, because this is all handled through listbot, just like when you signed up.
Last but not least, you can also sign the guestbook if you'd like....we love to hear from you members!
Another thing that we feel needs to be addressed is the pictures that we use. We love getting your Hanson pics to share with everyone on the list! Please don't send tagged versions, though, because it is highly unlikely that they will be used because tags take away from everyone's viewing pleasure! :)
If we receive a picture from someone that personally belongs to them, we try our very best to thank that person within our message, and if we have messed up every now and then, we hope you will not be too upset....we do our best, but we're only human. Sometimes, we get pictures that people have sent in that they just liked and found somewhere and we don't have any idea where they came from. And, if we have no idea where they came from, then it is impossible for us to give credit to the photographer. Hopefully, those folks will be understanding enough to realize that it is impossible for us to know this information, and just be happy that we can all enjoy the most important thing, which is, of course, the subjects of the pictures! :)
And, if you have sent us a picture in the past and it still hasn't been used yet, don't give up. They are safely stored in our folders, and still might turn up in a TAD or a HAD in the future! Ahhhh....so many wonderful pictures, not enough days to go around!
Again, we welcome everyone to TAD and HAD. If you like it, please let others know about it. Hopefully, our lists will help just a LITTLE bit while we all try to get through the upcoming Hanson drought! We know they certainly help us!

Hanson bounced through nearly two hours of shiny, upbeat teen-soul and never lit a flashpot, never danced in unison, never dressed up as marionettes, never lip-synced and didn't bring along a jumbo video screen. ~"At Warner, "Hanson Takes A Step Beyond Cuteness", by David Segal for the washingtonpost.com, September 16, 2000
Welcome to Hanson-A-Day 2001! :)

"I will be completely honest: I do not listen to Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync or Britney Spears. It's just not appealing to me on a musical level," Isaac Hanson said. "I think what it comes down to is sincerity...I feel bad for the teenagers out there because they're buying into someone else's agenda to a certain extent." ~Isaac, Newsday.com article written by Steve Knopper, September 7, 2000

There's something at once admirable, flawed and daft about this. The notion of a weedy group of today's teens playing old-fashioned classic rock songs is so far off the current commercial mark, you have to love it. ~"Hanson's MmmBack!", by Jim Farber for Daily News Online, September 13, 2000

"Carole King and Paul McCartney are at either shoulder, and I'm singing 'Stand by Me,' one of my favorite songs ever," he said. "I was like, 'OK, I can die now. I can get hit by a car tomorrow. I'm satisfied'." ~Zac, on the Songwriter's Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Newsday.com article written by Steven Knopper, September 7, 2000

As you all know, we rarely promote something unless we feel strongly about it. Below you will find the link to a petition which we think warrants all our signatures. If nothing else, your signature may serve to let the industry know that we do care about Hanson, regardless of whether or not they were recognized by the Grammy's "this time around". Since our list is 1,700-members-strong, we felt that doing our part by asking you all to support Hanson, might make a difference on some level. Please read the information below and sign the petition.
Many thanks,
~TC & TLS
The RIAA and NARAS have been contacted about no Grammy nod for Hanson. They seem to feel that Hanson fans no longer exist. When asked what would change their mind, the response was a petition with 5,000 signatures. Easy! Show them your love for Hanson by signing the petition here: http://www.123petitions.com/sign.cgi?id=cali4hanson@hotmail.com$2 Thank you. ~H.A.N.D.S --- HANSON fans from ALL NATIONS DEDICATED to their SUCCESS

The Tulsa-bred, home-schooled, devout Christian trio of Isaac, 19, Taylor, 17, and Zac, 14, are actually quite a competent little pop-rock bar band in a Bryan Adams-Hootie and the Blowfish kind of mold. ~"Teen Trio Rocks House", by Sarah Rodman for the Boston Herald.com, September 22, 2000
Thanks to Shirley for the use of her wonderful picture of the guys!

"I hope I get to play 'MMMBop' for the next 50 years. What I'm concerned with is whether people will eventually appreciate all our music." ~Isaac, "Second Time Around", by Dan Aquilante, NYPost.com, September 8, 2000

At this point, I see two potential outcomes for you guys: the Osmonds or the Beatles. 'N Sync, Britney, LFO, etc. - they'll probably never make anything more important than a lot of money. But you guys are still ridiculously young, and there's no telling what you might one day accomplish. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. ~"Hanson Faithful Rewarded at Tower", by Johnathan Valania for philly.com, September 18, 2000

"We're just writing things we feel and think about. It's just coming straight from us", he says. "At a certain point there are only so many things you can write about: love, hate, existence, just being there. At a certain point you're connecting with something someone else is feeling." ~Zac, "The Musical Brothers Continue Their Musical Journey", by Rex Rutkoski for ThemeStream, September 8, 2000

They don't dance. They don't lip-synch. They don't cavort on stage in matching silk pajamas. ~"The Rocking Boys Next Door", by Letta Tayler for Newsday.com, September 13, 2000

"Zac is misunderstood. He is considered by many people who don't know him to be the loud, goofy, obnoxious one. Most of the time he is the level-headed, cut-to-the-chase brother. He's a little bit Keith Moon and a little Mellow Dude." ~Isaac, "Second Time Around", by Dan Aquilante, NYPost.com, September 8, 2000

For nearly two hours, Hanson poured on the sunshine and kept their promise to their fans - namely, an offer of escape from the daily drudgery of junior high, with three heartthrobs at the helm, providing safe passage. ~ "At Orpheum, Love Is Blond", by Jonathan Perry for Boston.com, September 23, 2000

"The world would really suck if there wasn't music." ~Zac, "The Musical Brothers Continue Their Musical Journey", by Rex Rutkoski for ThemeStream, September 8, 2000

Zac, Taylor and Isaac Hanson, once the nation's teen idols of the moment, couldn't be more different from their counterparts like N' Sync and the Backstreet Boys. These guys actually play musical instruments and know about chord changes and doing more than photocopying other people's lyrics. ~"Hanson Brothers Entertain With Real Musical Talent", Wilkes-Barre review by Al Choman for Times-Shamrock News, September 19, 2000

"Tay is a normal guy and really consistent in nearly every way." ~Isaac, "Second Time Around", by Dan Aquilante, NYPost.com, September 8, 2000

The point is, good is good, and bad is bad, and I - for myself - have always decided and always will decide what that is. And Hanson - despite coming in as the easy-to-dismiss target package of three teenage brothers - falls on to the side of the good. Far superior to the contrived, industry-manufactured, disposable acts such as Backstreet Boys, N'Sync and 98 Degrees - Hanson is the clearly the real deal. ~"Hanson Busts the Boy-band Stereotype", by Alan K. Stout for Times Leader, September, 2000

What would he tell someone to expect who has never seen Hanson play live?
Zac: "Don't expect anything and you'll be really surprised. A lot of people go to our concerts not knowing what to expect because of our younger fan base. People almost expect us to come out and dance and do something like that. This is a full-blown band situation. That's what it is. We are all about rocking. Whether some people think we are going to be gone in five years or whatever it is, I will let them see for themselves in 20 years when we're still rocking."
~"The Musical Brothers Continue Their Musical Journey", by Rex Rutkoski for ThemeStream, September 8, 2000

Isaac: I screwed up.
Tay: Awww, dude!
~Ugly Phil Show, Sydney, Australia, August 1997
Today's picture is from July '98 at the Planet Hollywood press conference in Washington, DC. Sometimes it's kinda cool to go back and reminisce a little bit, don't you think? :)

"Can't you see my bulging pectorals, they're so shrimpy!"
~Isaac, Making the Video, TTA
Mmmm...well, now, Isaac...we would definitely NOT say shrimpy. Nope, not at all!

"The unique aspect of Hanson is that each member has enough charisma to stand out on his own: Taylor's "Keith Partridge" lead vocals, Isaac's rock star guitar antics and Zac's devious humor."
Kathy Murillo, Arizona Republic, 8/11/00

Hanson are three young men who may well be the future of pop -- if radio ever plays songs again and if the boys don't follow their cohorts John Popper and Jonny Lang too far along the blues-rock trail. Being the great pop hope ain't easy, but if anyone can do it, it's these three polite young men.

"Getting to make the music, and having a good time doing it, is the most important thing to us."
~Isaac, Hanson: From Boys to Men, Cincinnati Post, 10/20/

As a song writer you listen to all kinds of music and it effects you in ways you don't realize. In a subconscious way you incorporate that sound in some way in your music.

"I think success is merely a tool to do music more for us."
~Zac, TV Huset, 2000

"I think this album (TTA) has a very diverse set of songs."
~Zac
Thanks to Teri for this awesome Zac picture!

"Upon attending a Hanson concert you know without a doubt that you are going to be entertained-not by carefully choreographed dance moves or flashing lights and stage tricks-but by basic good music that rocks your soul and sends you reeling."
~16 Magazine, January 2001
Hmmmmm.....maybe, just maybe, *all* the teenie bopper magazines aren't just a bunch of crap! LOL.

"We knew that that was gonna happen (an interview on a train) as opposed to, you know, someone shows up.....'Hey, we're here to do an interview.' What??? Where??? Who???"
~Isaac, Select TV, Germany, Spring 2000
Welllllllll.....this quote was REALLY really funny on the interview. It doesn't seem as hilarious when you READ it. But, just imagine Isaac saying it in own his charmingly goofy way, and maybe you can appreciate it!

"We try to change clothes every day."
~Zac, MTV, Germany, Spring, 2001
Good to know, Zac! ;-)

"Yes, we surf. Not well, but we surf."
~Zac, Interaktiv, Spring 2001

Taylor: I think this is a lesson to all those guys: Do not cheat on your girlfriend.
Isaac: And girls too, definitely.
Taylor: Yeah, don't cheat on your boyfriend. If you do, you just might end up on international television.
~Introducing a song on MTV European Top 10

"We've gotten the opportunity to do something that we really love to do as a job. But because it's something we love so much, it's always fun to do it. You can always make the best of it."
~Zac, Anteprima Festivalbar, Spring 2000

Q: What is your most treasured memory?
Isaac: I don't really have one. I hate these questions. I guess it would have to be when I got my car.
Taylor: It's a minivan.
Isaac: It's not a minivan! It's NOT a minivan!
~Girl's Life interview
:) Don't they just make you smile no matter what? :)
Thanks to Teri for today's pic!
