Hanson
Party a Success!
4/3/00 (AllPop.com) |
MTV's Brian McFayden joined Isaac, Taylor and Zac along with tons of Hanson fans who had already downloaded Hanson's new single,
"This Time
Around" and logged onto
www.mtv.com, MTV reports.
The brothers said they were more excited than nervous and couldn't wait to see if their fans liked their new music.
"All the food is there and you're waiting for people to try it, and you can tell by the expressions on their faces [whether they like it or not,][ and if they [grimace] or go, 'Yeah, that's pretty
good," Taylor said.
The group kicked off the night with the album's first track,
"You Never
Know" and by the time the second song,
"If
Only" came on, Zac was dancing backstage.
Hanson took questions from the audience and online party-goers in between songs. During the question/answer sessions, the boys told fans the music they were listening to now was "the Black Crowes, Macy Gray and Chuck Berry".
The Hanson brothers also said they'd considered naming the album "If Only" and "24 Hour Breakfast" before settling on
"This Time
Around".
The Hanson fans weren't disappointed by the album and got up to dance to the boys' new ballad
"Dying To Be
Alive".
When the last track, "A Song To
Sing" was over, some Hanson lovers took the time to comment on
"This Time
Around".
"I like (the new album) because it's a lot different than
'Middle Of
Nowhere'," said 17-year-old Ocie Winter from Connecticut. "Aside from the voices, which are still great, the album has a lot more of a rock sound to it and less of just the pop songs."
Fans who missed out on the online listening party can hear the new album for themselves when
"This Time
Around" is released on May 9.
