A Hanson Concert On Tap
9/2/98 (CBS) |
CBS This Morning hosts a live concert Friday with Hanson, the young singing trio. The group hit the pop music charts in 1997 with their single,
MMMBop, and have since become a teen sensation.
The brothers, 17-year-old Isaac, 15-year-old Taylor, and 12-year-old Zachary, have sold 12 million copies of their three albums and have been nominated for three Grammy Awards. They will perform a live concert in New York for CBS This Morning on Friday.
In an interview last December with CBS This Morning co-anchor Mark McEwen, the group talked about their success, calling it "awesome." Issac said it was particularly awesome that people all over the world enjoy their music, despite the language differences. Taylor was quick to add that their success was "totally and completely about the fans," adding: "without them, we can't do it."
Fans who may have missed the opportunity to see Hanson perform this summer during their first North American tour will get a chance to hear new music by the teen trio. The live performance will be at New York City's Chelsea Piers sports complex.
On the broadcast, Hanson will perform songs from Alive, a new album scheduled to be released later this fall.
Those interested in obtaining tickets should call Mercury Records' Hanson-CBS This Morning ticket hotline at (212)603-7919 (note this is not a toll-free call outside of New York) or you can click "What's New" on the Mercury Records site for information.
The concert begins at 7:00 a.m. ET on the CBS Television Network. Mark McEwen will interview Hanson live, and co-anchor the broadcast from Chelsea Piers.
